I stayed two nights here for a conference. When I arrived there, the car stopped at the second door of the hotel which is the lobby for the group check in. Because the check in process was quick, we were able to put our bags and refreshed ourself a little bit in our rooms.
The rooms was nice, the colour scheme is neutral and soothing. The bathroom was also quite spacious. The room also has a nice view of the Chao Phraya river and the hotel offers a complimentary boat ride to the nearest train station every half hour.
The main lobby has a replica of a tower containing the replica of the emerald Budha ( the original is kept at the palace temple). On the ground and the first floor there are quite a few of shops ranging from jewellery, tailor, silk, gold to tour operators and there is a door linking the hotel to the Rivercity Mall next door.
The whole second floor is dedicated to ballrooms and conference rooms, the main ballroom was comfortably seat the whole conference delegates ( there were about 500 of us), plus a huge sound n DJ booth and equipments and a huge stage.
The hotel has several restaurants and bar. There is the coffee shop, a Thai restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a bar n grill, and a lobby bar. The hotel has several restaurants and bar. There is the coffee shop, a Thai restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a bar n grill, and a lobby bar. The breakfast buffet was actually better than some hotel that I have been to, although a person in our group told me that the restaurant staff was denying her breakfast because there was a special buffet for the delegates (I didn't know this because both the organisers and the receptionists didn't mention this during check in) but she told the staff that when she was checking in, the receptionist told her that she could have breakfast at the restaurant, so the staff finally let her to have breakfast at the restaurant. Because our conference was quite large, during lunch we were divided into two groups and I got to dine at the Hotel's Italian Restaurant Giorgio's. I didn't know whether we had the two groups had the same food but our group's lunch had a mixture of Italian and Thai foods. I couldn't comment on dinner because we didn't have dinner in the hotel.
The facilities is quite complete; the hotel has a spa, a gym, a swimming pool, free internet access in room, and a pier for the complimentary boat ride. The staff were quite helpful, despite my my fellow delegate incident in the restaurant, I did not experience any drama with the staff. The only one weakness that I noticed (and could think of) is the lighting throughout the hotel. Probably, the hotel aimed the ambience to be cosy and intimate, but in my opinion, it became too dark.
Overall it is a nice, comfortable hotel for an event and I presume for leisure as well and you know it is a good hotel if the only bad thing to say about it is the lighting.More
