My wife, her grandson and I stayed at this hotel from 6 to 16 March 2014 and took the time to explore most of the facilities the hotel has to offer. First and foremost was our very first impressions on arrival at 2:00am in the morning. The on duty staff (which includes the night manager), were effervescent, well mannered and very professional. The check in was carried out without any fuss or confusion and we were escorted to our room in no time at all. The room we were allocated for a 10 night stay I felt was too small and immediately expressed my concerns to the night manager. He made a note of my concerns and asked me to speak with the front officer manager when I woke. I visited the front office manager a few hours later (Jakkraphand Khorsawad) and with no effort at all, this very professional manager reallocated us all to a larger room at no extra cost. The room furnishing is a little outdated and drab, but our room was very clean and well maintained throughout our stay. The bathroom is a good size and in a good state of repair. The gymnasium equipment is showing distinct signs of old age and could do with some equipment being replaced with more modern versions. The swimming pool and surrounds are large and well maintained. My wife made very good use of the hotels spa resort and could not praise the location and staff enough. We ate the hotel breakfast every morning during our stay and must commend the chefs on the quality and presentation of all the food that was provided. The choice of food was excellent and the dining room staff were well presented, professional and always courteous. If I return to Bangkok on business I would certainly consider staying at this hotel again. As mentioned by other reviewers of this hotel, the Huay Kwang MRT (underground train service) is a 2 minute walk from the front of the hotel. Depending on your train destination, you can access the BTS (sky train) to continue your journey. We spent a fair amount of our time either at Sukhumvit or Siam shopping area and would most probably choose either of these areas if we were to return to Bangkok, but only because Huay Kwang is a little too far when you are travelling daily to shop.
