“Fantastic gym and excellent location”
Reviewed November 14, 2009

Attached to the siam and MBK shopping centres this has a great location. It you only have a night or two on a stopover or you are on your way through to one of the islands then you are superbly located here.
I think the gym is also open to the public as paying members, hence it is big, has loads of facilities and seems more like a health club. A huge improvement on some large hotels who have one treadmill, a rowing machine and a swiss ball all in a pokey little room. My partner and I were very impressed and will definitely stay there agin.

We stayed at the Pathumwan Princess in Bangkok for 4 nights in June 2009. This hotel was absolute heaven! Our superior room was more like a suite as it was so large! The room itself was modern, comfortable, cool, and like a home away from home. The hotel was luxurious, and we were looked after so well by the staff who constantly went out of their way to provide the best service in the industry. The hotel is connected to the MBK shopping centre through internal doors, meaning you could just stay indoors if you wanted. The MBK shopping centre has so many food choices for such cheap prices, along with anything else you really could want. The pool was always very clean, well supervised and very refreshing in Thailand's heat. The pool area is also equipped with a jacuzzi and showers as well as sun lounges to laze away an very enjoyable holiday at this hotel. Words cannot express what a fantastic establishment this is, the service was unparalleled and we would most definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying for any amount of time in Thailand's capital.

Check in was a breeze. We got exactly what we asked for. Room was smaller than we expected but adequate. The raindrops shower was great. Room service is fast and accurate. And the most important of all....superb location. It is near everything. MBK mall is right by your doorstep and everything you need is there. Staff is always attentive. Breakfast is ok, nothing much to rave about but hey, it's Continental and they have to please everybody and they surely pleased us. Internet is not free though. I find it a tad expensive for 640baht per day. We've been to other hotels and most offer free wi-fi access. Check out is also efficient. We left our luggage there and went to Phuket for 3 days, checked in again for another night when we came back before finally leaving Thailand.

Stayed for 3 nights after booking great rate with hotel. A small problem with my room and was moved immediately with no fuss which was much appreciated. The hotel has been rennovated and the the rooms are stylish and modern with all the amenities. Central to all transport and shoppping (MBK attached) along with a number of eateries inside the hotel complex. Room service reasonably priced with a good selection of meals. Staff very professional without being snooty and nothing was too much trouble. Pool area was great after a long day and noted lots of business people using gym and pool late pm. This will be my choice when I am in Bangkok.

Love it. This was about our 5th (maybe 6th) stay in the Princess. The location, the staff, decor, Club lounge - all excellent; the staff in particular need to be singled out, they are all fantastic, friendly, funny and corteous, they honestly can't do enough for you, every single one of them, from the front staff, the porters, the restaraunts, club lounge, the entry staff, and the door staff leading to the MBK, you can't go past the Princess Pathumwan. I rate this hotel as providing a "service of excellence". Well done, and can't wait to stay there again.

If we are only staying one or two nights, we book a superior room, 3 or over nights we book into the Exec Plus suite, well worth the little bit extra you pay, for the extra room and the facilities in the Club Lounge (did I mention the fabulous staff in there?).

This was our second time staying at the Pathumwan Princess and is the only reason i continue to return to Bangkok. Both visits to the Pathumwan have been incredible and in all honesty is my favourite place to stay when in Thailand (yes even better than the resorts i have stayed at in Phuket).

Where do i start with all the great things about the Pathumwan ... Their pool area is beautiful, very clean and very spacious, i could (and did) spend hours out there relaxing and the service is 5 star. Wait staff kindly ask if you would like another drink, some food etc and they are very prompt with your order. The spa baths are also really nice and great for the early mornings. The sign at the spa area is hilarious and always makes us laugh (see photo). The restaurant that is attached to the pool area is also great and has great quality meals. Some may argue that it is a little pricey, but believe me, it's worth it. We also tried the Indian restaurant located up stairs and again, we were not disappointed. The breakfasts are literally the best i have ever experienced when travelling and the food is divine. Eating breakfast has never been so good.

The fitness centre that is in the hotel is immaculate and huge! It is very similar to a Fitness First and has the best quality training facilities. This is very hard to come across when staying at hotels, the fitness facilities are typically small.

The highlight of the Pathumwan would have to be the convenience of the MBK shopping centre being adjoined to the hotel. If you are a huge shopper as i am, this is paradise! You can shop for hours, follow the signs in the 8 storey shopping complex back to your hotel, drop your bags off and go back for round 2, 3 and possible 4! It is also a very short walk to the Siam Shopping centre as well. Outside the hotel there are numerous ATM's which are very convenient.

The actual hotel is very classy and stunning, they have everything you could possible need and want in a hotel. This should be classed as a 5 star hotel.

Just returned from 2 nights at the Pathumwan Princess Bangkok. This is by far, the most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed in! We did not scrimp on our stopover as we wanted something special, and it certainloy was. We were upgraded to a family, interconnecting room after booking a room with all of us in one. We were on the 23rd floor with the most amazing views over Bangkok.
From the welcome drink, to being shown the room and bags delivered and then the free cocktail at the bar - very welcoming.
The rooms were brand new I think - shower with overhead showerhead. Marble bathrooms and the most confortable beds and linen that I have ever slept in.
We ate at the Italian restaurent with the 50% off vouvhers that we received for being hotel guests. String quartet playing in the foyer!
The hotel in attached to the MBK shopping centre which is just madness! A mix of market style and shops with good food all round. Watch the electronics area - we had a great deak with working hardware from one place and was ripped off the non working hardware from another. No such thing as refunds in MBK!
MBK is then attached to the 3 Paragon shopping centres to and a direct link to the skyrail.
We were going to book a tour but after consulting the helpful concierge we did our own thing. Very helpful.
One negative would be that we did have small children and this hotel is not really suitable for kids who want to run around and make noise in the pool. More for couples or maybe people with older children.
Would come back again though - when the kids grow up!
