“Absolutely Fantastic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014

We booked an Executive-Plus suite with complimentary butler and club lounge access along with arranging for the hotels chauffeur to pick us up from the airport. From start to finish we were not disappointed. Our plane was delayed by an hour unfortunately, but when we finally got the hotel (3am) our butler was awaiting us to escort us to our room for check in. What a difference this makes to getting off a long haul flight. It was the little things that certainly made us feel very attended to, like giving me (the lady) the selection of fragrances so I could choose which type of bathroom toiletries we wanted and plenty of bottles of water. In the afternoons the butler service even extends to bringing up to the room afternoon tea which consists of tea/coffee and a platter of sandwiches and little cakes. For us a NZers we are so used to doing everything for ourselves but for once we were waited upon and we certainly did enjoy it. The hotel room was very spacious and apart from a very big bedroom we had a lounge area complete with couch and chair, coffee table and even a coffee machine. Gorgeous big bathroom, tiled from floor up with two different shower heads. Exceptional. We had to go to Pattaya for a couple of days for a work conference but returned to the Pathuwan. Again we had booked the Executive Plus suite and because we had private transfers and not sure when we were going to get back to the hotel, found that our butler had been awaiting us in the lobby for several hours and when we did arrive, there she was ready to greet us and again check in and check out in room. Citi-Bistro offers a wide selection of food for breakfast - couldn't fault it. Staff very attentive and certainly did live up to being in the land of smiles. We hardly used the Club Lounge and to be fair, it isn't the best one that we have been to. But on the times we did, the staff were always on hand to make us tea or coffee and be available for anything else we needed. They offer a few snacks during the day but they were mainly sweet cakes and only one selection of savoury - but if sweet things are your thing, then you'll be fine. The wine selection was a bit average. No NZ wine's and the only white on offer was a champagne which isn't my thing. (Would love to have had a NZ Sauvignon Blanc - so maybe if they read this, they might look at buying in NZ wines. Certainly had a few Aussie wines in the bar, but you can't beat NZ Sav!) For those that love shopping, MBK adjoins this hotel and with two access points, ground floor and level 2, you can certainly fill a couple of days in here. If you head through Level 2 this joins onto the Skywalk and takes you across to the Siam Discovery Centre. If knock-offs are not your thing, then you will find all the major fashion houses here and you'll certainly pay for it too. Can recommend the restaurants here in the foodcourt area. Plenty to chose from and very reasonable. My husband and I dined out each night here and we only spent in total (with drinks) no more than 400 baht. ($16-18 NZ) You will pay double plus some if you dine in the hotel just so you know. Love this hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

Stayed in the executive plus suite for 3 nights ,2 adults,2 children with breakfast at the start of march 2013. We also stayed 3 nights with breakfast going home with late check out 2 hours before our flight special Internet deal through the hotel's website . Really did not want to leave this hotel ,adjoining the hotel is the MBK shopping paradise if you like shopping ,if like me u can enjoy chilling out by the large swimming pool the best I have seen in bangkok.
I have stayed in 20 odd hotels in Bangkok.
The executive suite for me was worth the money just pure luxury in BK you want to see the bathroom amazing.livingroom can be separated from the bedroom by moving across a door.Flat screen tv in both room's with pool view the standard rooms are small.
Breakfast was great lots of choice.
Can't wait until I return to this hotel next time.
Guess what got a great deal from hotel website so came for a week with my wife no kids this time
Thanks to all the staff at this hotel they are so professional
And keep the offers on as this is the only reason I came this time
So temp me back with a deal next time

This is my second stay in this hotel. The last time was many years back during their upgrading. This time round we were happy with the cleanliness environment, friendly staff, wifi facilities within the hotel (maximum used up to 6 hours) and breakfast was not too bad. The only downside was surprised that such a nice hotel with a peeling off bed head? Room is pretty spacious and we stayed on 25th floor with good view too. We requested for non smoking room and was told that they are a non smoking hotel. Hotel's location is superb and convenient, as it is just beside the BTS train station and is connected to the MBK shopping mall on the first and second floor.

After a long day of travel my daughter and I were delighted to check in at this very nice hotel to find that we had been upgraded. Our room had everything you would expect to find in a place like this. It was large, spacious and the bathroom was awesome. Also as we were located on the 19th floor, the views of the busy city streets below were the most amazing I have ever seen. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of east and western foods and was mostly really busy. So busy that if you went to breakfast at the wrong time, you needed to line up for a table. While we were there we ate at two of the hotel restaurants, more for convenience than anything else. We went Italian on the first night and Korean on the second. As expected the food was very good, and very pricy. The real beauty of this place though is that it is connected by an internal passage way to the MBK Centre and everything that the centre has to offer - shops, restaurants, cinemas, and more shops - open till really late. Overall, a really nice place and in a really good position if you want to do some last minute shopping on your way home

We chose to stay in this hotel as it was the place for the commencement of our food tour. I would happily stay here again. Centrally located and immediately adjacent to the MBK shopping centre and BTS sky train, it was a perfect location to be able to get out and about into many parts of Bangkok easily by public transport, including the main international airport. We came and went from this hotel 3 times during our ten day stay and each time we were treated extremely well. The staff are friendly, polite and very helpful. The rooms are spacious - we stayed in a superior room, which had a view of the city and the pool. They also have excellent air conditioning, a rain shower, and are extremely quiet at night time. The breakfast which was included was excellent and includes a large variety of western and thai food. The chefs at the egg station are also fantastic, whipping you up any sort of egg you like. I would definitely recommend it and as I said, would definitely stay here again.

This is a really nice hotel, great breakfast, comfortable bed, clean, ideal location. We have visited Bangkok many times and continually choose to stay at this hotel and each time we have stayed the service, room, breakfast are all the same. MBK is nearby. The train station is also close by and taxis are cheap.

Sated here on the deal stay two nights get third night free. My room was on the 26th floor with a great view. This is an up market hotel in a great location attached to the MBK shopping centre with direct access into the shopping centre. Access to the BTS rail system is also accessed through the shopping centre. From here you can a train to the river and go by ferry to a lot of the tourist attractions which is a lot quicker and easier than travelling by taxi in the traffic. Rooms are very comfortable and clean with a great buffet breakfast, with a large variety which should please anyone. I would recommend shopping at the Platinum Mall which is a short Tuk Tuk ride or if you are energetic about 20 minute walk. The concierge was helpful in giving me directions on the map the hotel provided me to walk there. Everything at that mall was a lot cheaper and if you buy three or more items you get the items at wholesale price. Pratunam markets are across the road from Platinum Mall as well. The hotel has a great pool with two spas. MBK has a very good food court on the fifth floor, a cinema, bowling alley and a variety of other good restaurants.
