Stayed at the Pathumwan Princess hotel for 2 nights on our way to Koh Samui. A beautiful, modern hotel, very conveniently situated for the MBK shopping centre and also Siam Square. Lovely swimming pool on the 8th floor and, on the opposite side of the hotel from the swimming pool, a beautiful trendy terrace, open in the evenings with music and great views of the Bangkok skyline. Excellent restaurant also on the 8th floor where you can have breakfast - sitting outside by the swimming pool.

Room Tip: Request a room on a higher floor for best views of the city. We stayed on floor 22 out of 28 I think...

My wife and I stayed here from 15-18 May 2012, and also spent a week here in 2010. The location is the best in Bangkok, with walk -through access to the huge MBK Mall and the sky train station on the other side of MBK.
We had a spacious and well-appointed room on the 21st floor (room 2108) with a panoramic view to the south. The bed was very comfortable, the free wifi worked well and there was a minibar, tea and coffee making and good hot water.
The breakfast selection is one of the widest we have seen, and no-one else can make an omelette like the omelette man here (we've watched him closely and tried to replicate his work at home, but couldn't).
We have stayed at the Shangri-La and other 5-star hotels in Bangkok, but the Princess beats them all for comfort and convenience.

We stayed in a Deluxe Room for 3 nights in May 2011 for THB 12,234 total.

After booking this hotel, based on location and reviews, we discovered that many people we know had already stayed here and loved the hotel.
I’m happy to say our high expectations were not only met, but exceeded. Breakfast was included in the rate. Upon checkin we discovered that we also had complimentary Thai dinner included every day as well! Our room was really nice - as depicted on the website - with a flash bathroom. The staff were so friendly, it's amazing!
The lady who showed us to our dinner table on our first night was pronouncing the times just like the hooker in the second Bridget Jones Diary film... "You make booking for me... 10:30". Very hard keeping a straight face! Our free Thai food dinner was yum, yum, YUM! The next morning the same lady who seated us at dinner, greeted us at breakfast and she remembered our names. Was quite impressed with this and yes, it made us feel special (she had nothing to identify us by so it was all just memory and good customer service). The chefs in the breakfast area were singing as they cooked our eggs to order. Didn’t seem put on as they were smiling and joking with each other while doing this.
Our first night we booked some tours with the tour desk in the foyer. It was great that the tour desk was open extended hours as being open so late enabled us to book a city orientation tour for our first day and a tiger temple tour for the following which really helped us maximise our short time in Bangkok.
The hotel is literally attached to MBK shopping centre. We only had a quick look in here the morning we were leaving. It’s quite an odd collection as there are genuine shops plus knockoff shops selling pirate dvds, copy watches etc but all in actual shops.

Around Bangkok – Highly recommend a day trip to the Tiger Temple. We did this and paid extra to feed/play with the cubs and also to go in an enclosure with the adults. We were able to briefly wash and hand feed chicken to the adults before going into their enclosure and playing with them in the water. Great fun and an absolutely awesome experience!!
If you’re in Bangkok on a weekend you could visit Chatuchak weekend market. This market has over 15,000 stalls! Busy market but the atmosphere was great and the people there were really chilled. Not one aggressive hawker in the whole place. Sometimes it felt like we almost had to force them to serve us they were so laid back. We were also impressed to see recycling bins at the markets.
Riding around in the colourful tuk-tuks was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed these though my husband said he felt safer in the tiger enclosure!

Loved Bangkok and loved our stay at this hotel. I’d definitely consider staying here again if we return to Bangkok.

I've been coming back to this hotel for years and still never ceases to amaze me. The hotel itself is nice and clean, with very modern room and spacious lobby with lots of dining options (however would not recommend Korean BBQ restaurant Kongju). It is convenientlloco necked directly to MBK shopping mall which I think is the best part! The pool is lovely and the service is great. Will recommend and always visit again.

What a great find this place was, right next to the MBK shopping centre of Bangkok.
I have never seen a gym complex called the Olympic Club like this hotel had in my life.
It is truly world class and enormous, the steam and sauna rooms are fantastic as is the whole complex.
The pool is full 25mt size with pool side bar and restaraunt and spa centre.
From reception take one escalator down to bars and restaraunts or walk straight into MBK shopping centre, its incredible everything you could need is all here.

A huge thankyou to all the staff from taking our initial booking, to the room service staff who presented the room so beautfully for our anniversary and the cake that met us at the door of the room as we were shown in.. My wife loved it and took the photos for family and friends.

Will definetly stay here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights in April, I have not a negative comment to make at all, thoroughly enjoyed it we had a nice room on the 11th floor, view over the swimming pool which is on the 8th floor with outdoor Italian restaurant, also jacuzzi near pool , lovley setting wonderful at night and yes you are allowed to swim until 10pm, thats if you are not wandering round the streets of Bangkok taking in the sights and delights, hustle and bustle of this vibrant city.
The Breakfast was really good plenty of choice, all transport nearby so really easy to get around Bangkok.
The hotel is connected to the MBK shopping centre, you can just walk straight in from the Hotel.
Overall a very good base to stay in Bangkok and very clean, great rooms comfy and very spacious. The staff here are wonderful too, very nice, but you will find everywhere you go in Thailand people are loveley.

but... i might have expected too much. Stayed here for 3 nights- reserving a total of 3 rooms. After reading all previous reviews, i have to admit it IS a good hotel- staffs being the NO.1 thumbs up for their great and prompt service however as said i might have expected too much.

Rooms- Very spacious and enough to keep the energetic 14month old lil one zombie-ing around comfortably. We had the room with a pool view to our delight. Rooms were clean and we had 2 comfortable super single beds. Had requested for connecting rooms to our parents but wasn't met- not surprising, special requests are mostly hard to meet anyways. But thankfully we got everyone on the same floor. Our room had some power failure whereby the electricity was cut off a few times on the first 2 days and before it gets to get super irritating, we got them to rectify-in which the service was prompt.

Staffs- They are one of the best! Very prompt and polite. Called several times for room service and they always arrived less than 5 mins. Check-in was a bit lengthy although there were really not many guests around.

Location- Adjacent to the popular MBK shopping centre! Very good for last min shopping fix. As we are Muslims, MBK offers halal food at affordable prices. It's also a short taxi ride to most places- for eg- 5-10 mins from Platinum mall.

Facilities- The pool- now this is a major letdown. It was nice and everything but we were a bit put off that there wasn't any kids/baby pool! Our lil one was all geared up only to be disappointed. I thought this was a family-friendly hotel? And most guests we met were families so i reckoned they should have at least a small one to accommodate to these little darlings- instead of having too many loungers which are hardly of use (too pleantiful!)? Since she was already in her swimming gear, we decided to let her take a short leg-dip in the jacuzzi. We know kids under 12 are not allowed but she wasnt even neither swimming nor left unattended! The staff got us to sign something that looks like at-your-own-risk form, left us for 5 mins and returned to tell us this is a big no-no so we need to stop.

We didnt eat anything from the hotel so unable to comment on that. Overall, we would return however the "pull" factor is not strong enough to make it on our top list.

Room Tip: For those thinking to crash in one room, DON'T. They would requests for all guests' passport...
