Nice place to stay if you wanted Convenience at your door step

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 12, 2011
Was spending a weekend in BKK with my wife, we choose this hotel coz we have a good experience the last time.
The room is nicely done up, service was good and most important. It's location is just beside
MBK (Mah Boon Krong ) shopping Mall.

The hotel's location is easy accessable to BTM and Siam Paragon and walking distance to Central World.
It was not as hot and sunny during the late Jul, infact it was raining on Sunday morning, but because it is connected to the mall. There was no disruption to our plan of eating, shopping and even SPA.

The price is higher the the rest of the hotel around but I felt that is worth it as I don't have to be disrupted by rain and traffic when I am in Siam area.

We stayed just for one night because we wanted to do some shopping on our way back to Sweden after two weeks on the beaches in southern Thailand.

If you want to shop at MBK its very convenient to stay at this hotel because its in the same building, just take the elevator to your room. Rooms are very very nice, bright, clean and cosy!
The breakfast was abolutely amazing havent had any better anywhere else, there was just everything you can possibly want! We recommend this hotel highly!

a very strategically located hotel for shopaholics, very convenient if u like to shop @ MBK or even take the BTS. The online price is very reasonable. we booked this hotel @ last minute with the Don Muang hotel reservations (local travel agent) and ended up paying 35% more than the published price online. Maybe the hotel representative should control the pricing with the local travel agent so tourists won't get ripped off. Overall, the hotel amenities are good but maybe the breakfast should be improved, lack of variation, serve same buffet breakfast for 3 mornings.

The highlight of this hotel was the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, the freindliness and the kindness like the name says, made you feel like a princess.
The rooms were immaculate, the breakfasts great and once again five star staff and service.
The location is fantastic, we shopped up a storm at the adjoining MBK shopping centre and we only paid 100baht (3aud) in a taxi to everywhere else.
My only very tiny complaint was that compared to the hotel i stayed at in Phuket, drinks, coffee from the foyer cafe and internet usage were quite pricey.
I would most definitely stay here and nowhere else on return to Bangkok.

Stayed for four nights in a deluxe room, given a non smoking room as requested. We were the last room in the hallway, Korean Guests next to us smoked non stop in the bathroom and the exhaust fan pumped the smoke into our room. We both speak Thai and English and asked the Reception to deal with this. No Luck, so much smoke came from the room that you could see and smell up by the lifts. My wife and I ended up with Sinus Infections, finally after three nights I told reception that you need to deal with guests smoking on a non smoking floor or I will knock on the door. final response was we will charge them more!

Requested a check out time of 2-00pm on arival and again no memory further negotiation they finally agreed.

Room was clean and presented well, it appears this hotel has targeted guests from certain regions that like to spit on the floor in the breakfast area and yell at the staff who are quite humble when trying accomadate their requirements. If you like being pushed and shoved at the breakfast area and enjoy guests spitting and yelling then stay here!

My Daughter and Son in Law also stayed here at the same time and reported same behavior problems.

Dear Robert L,
Thank you for sharing your experiences with us via Tripadvisor.
We, as a 100% smoke free hotel, most sincerely regret that indeed some guests tend to not respect our non-smoking policies. Our control system goes from systematic 24/7 walk around by our over 40 security associates to daily housekeeping checks etc. Guest who do not adhere to our policies are discovered usually fast, however only after a violation occured. Our Managers on duty are well trained in handling these and other issues and certainly not shy of talking to a smoker., as they have done in your case on day 3 of your stay, after you smelled smoke on that night. Please accept our most sincere apologies that we failed to meet your expectations.
As to the clientele we target we may correct you and assure you that, while as an international hotel we welcome any guest without prejudices, we do not target a certain clientele and over half of our guests are Europeans, Americans or Australians. There certainly is no spitting in our breakfast room and we excuse this exaggeration on your part as an attempt to underline your miscontent with our property.
Again, please accept our apologies,
Yours sincerely
Christoph J Knichel
