We visited for 3 nights.

It was a nice haven away from the hustle and bustle of the Bangkok streets outside. There is a beautiful garden, waterfall and pool in the hotel.

Bangkok is quite expensive, it costs less to get a good dinner and have drinks in the hotel than in similar restaurants in the city.

Our room was lovely, big bathroom, and friendly staff.

The sky bar on floor 22 is a lovely experience, you have amazing 360 degree views of the city and their cocktails are amazing.

The hotel takes your security seriously, as their staff check cars entering for suspicious devices etc.

Notwithstanding this, we found Bangkok to be quite safe. Be careful in crossing the street as traffic is mental and what you see as a zebra crossing is not the same as at home - it's a game of chicken trying to run through a space in the traffic.

I stayed at the Dusit Thani 10 years ago for business and have raved about it ever since! We had 1 night left on a several stop visit to Thailand and I wanted to impress my husband by staying in this amazing hotel! I don't visit Bangkok often this is obvious. But after spending thousands of $'s on scuba diving in Koh Samui and several thousand more on clothes, I was expecting to have at least the same level of experience for our last night.

It was quite obvious from the time we walked in the front door what the staff at Dusit Thani thinks of us. We had to spend several minutes discussing my reservation and that I included breakfast in my booking. The dent desk clerk ran through all the costs repeatedly, So much for any surprise and keeping things simple, that's why I paid in advance and confirmed via email.

So now we are in a room, no better than an airport hotel room, on the fourth and lowest floor overlooking the rooftop and a huge neon sign.

This is no longer high season, I am sure there are better rooms and I would have been happy to upgrade had I known.

ARRIVAL.
Quick and easy check in found reception staff to be very easy on the eye and extremely professional at what there were doing, (full marks). I was always told you don,t get a second chance to give a first impression, keep the good work up.
ROOM
We were on the 6th floor rm 627, found to be very clean and extremely comforting, bed very comfortable after a 14 hr journey.
STAFF.
No issues at all all very polite good at what they were doing and always on the ball.
HOTELand LOCATION.
Found this hotel to be central to everything that one needed to do for 3 days, there is a train station right outside so if on a budget just get the train to the hotel much cheaper than a taxi. There,s plenty of things to do and loads of places to eat.
OVERALL>
Great hotel and try the night market go by Sky train and then free boat when there eat at the first restaurant on the right absolutely brilliant.

This is a very nice hotel with a good selection of great, quality restaurants. We especially enjoyed the rooftop restaurant, 22 Kitchen and Bar, with stunning views of the city all around. Even if you don't eat there, stop by for a drink because the views from their floor to ceiling windows are just spectacular. The hotel also does very nice afternoon tea in one of their lounge areas. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was sick when we checked in and one of the housekeeping staff, who noticed me walking slowly down the hallway to my room, was gracious enough to help me. She gave me an extra blanket and checked on me the next day. I think her name was Pornphen and I cannot express enough how touched I was by her kindness. I also have to mention Paul, who did a wonderful job researching the best way for us to ship one of our luggages back home. He was very helpful and took care of everything for us. The bad thing is that during our stay we were extremely surprised to find a pretty large cockroach climbing on to our bed while we were laying on it. They upgraded us to another room on a higher floor which was very nice but after that uncomfortable experience it was just unnerving, especially at a 5 star hotel.

Have always wanted to stay at this hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Reservation staff, restaurant staff, housekeeping and actually all those we came into contact with are to be commended. Courtesy and helpfulness is paramount.
The rooms are a little tired and could do with a spruce up,but generally the hotel is well maintained.
