I have stayed at this hotel for business and pleasure on numerous occasions. Staff are professional and friendly. Atmosphere of the hotel is very charming. Breakfast buffet plentiful. Hotel has several restaurants. We tried two and enjoyed both. Again excellent service and the delicious food. View from the hotel bar at the top is excellent. Outstanding fitness center. Outdoor pool area very comfortable and the outdoor waterfall/lounge area is wonderful.

Hi, I was here for a conference, and got a great room rate--3000thb/night. They were kind enough to extend the room rate through the weekend so we could see Bangkok.

I would agree with some of the other reviewers--the hotel could use a facelift. But for the price and location, it doesn't really matter. You can get brand new carpet at the W, but pay $400USD/night for a less desirable location. Hotel selection is about balancing factors.

The room is big, and has a nice closet and huge bathroom. Fantastic air-con, nice big bathtub, nicely finished in marble. Good towels, good bathrobes, nice slippers. Soft sheets, AMAZING PILLOWS (I actually bought a pillow from the hotel), fast wifi in the room. Good TV, speaker for TV in the bathroom, nice mirror, lots of free water everyday. Breakfast was included and it was amazing. Lots to choose from.

Location was fantastic--right in SiLom, next to public transport. If you're interested in street food, just leave the hotel and make a left at the next street--you'll find pad thai, mango sticky rice, pomelo, satay, seafood, etc. Anything you want, basically. Several starbucks, too. Patpong is also right there, as is the Patpong night market. Lots of good people watching in this area.

Anyhow, I'd say go for it if you get a good rate. I wouldn't pay more than $120USD for this room, so if you find anything for less, you won't regret it. Enjoy!

One one of the tallest buildings on the Bangkok skyline, its true stature is now found when you enter its spacious & luxurious lobby, a wonderful place to be based when you take in the chaos that is Bangkok. I have stayed in the Dusit on 4 different occasions & it has always been a pleasure, the staff are attentive & wonderful, there are many five star hotels in Bangkok, this one seems to have the true local touch

Room Tip: The landmark suites on the higher floors give a high standard of luxury combined with stunning views of Bangkok

We visited Bangkok at the beginning and the end of our trip to Thailand, we stayed at the Dusit Thani at both ends and both stays were different, trip1- our welcome could not be better, the girl took us thought to another reception showing us the fine restaurants on the way then a member of staff showed us to our room, the room was large and spacious with a huge bathroom with separate shower, the bed was a king size, the view was poor and looked onto the back of the hotel, breakfast was ample but not worth the 865 baht.
Trip2- we checked in , the receptionist pointed to the lift, we made our way over , turned round she was gone.
The room was tiny, a little mixer shower over the bath, a double bed, the air on is old and doesn't work properly. The view was pretty good.
On entering this hotel it looks grand, the lobby is spectacular the restaurants are expensive, after that its not 5 star, the rooms are very dated and is living on past reputations, it needs upgrading or it will continue to live in the past.

I stayed six nights at the Dusit Thani Hotel. The staff was very friendly, helpful and always smiling and polite. I was participating in a three day meeting in which we used the ballroom and several other meeting rooms. The rooms were always refreshed and cleaned at the breaks. Refreshments and finger foods were always on time and plentiful. The staff was always ready to assist in providing directions. The food is delicious and there is a wide variety to choose from. Whether for the meals of the day or finger foods during meetings, the food was always top notch. I wasn't the meeting planner who chose this hotel, but they obviously knew what they were doing. The lobbies, public restrooms, bars, restaurants and sleeping rooms are all very clean. It's the attention to detail that makes this hotel so awesome. I highly recommend it.
