“Amazing Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2013

We found this amazing hotel online and decided to go for it after reading the wonderful reviews and boy were we glad that we checked in. We were transiting through Bangkok and stayed over and arrived early at the hotel to discover that we were upgraded to a suite on the 59th floor. The city view by night was mind blowing. The bathrooms were modern with Bvlgari toileteries. The sky bar was amazing as was the pool. Since we were checking out early in the morning, the hotel arranged for breakfast hampers to take with us. The only downside is the hotel's location which was not close to any nice touristy area.

Room Tip: Get a room on a high floor with a city view.

Great Hotel located near the Chao Phraya River and not far from a metro station. It has 64th Floor, with a fantastic bar and restaurant on the top, amazing view from there.
The room are big (approx 850sq mt for mine), with a bath and shower. 2TVs, one in the living room, and one in the bedroom, table to work and plug the PC, Kitchen if needed. Nice balcony with the view on the River.
Breakfast is crazy, everything you want (120 choices of plates from every country of the world) and you can take near the swimming pool.
Service also is great, asian hospitality with class.
The point to improvement are the fitness where the machines are old and the spa. Except that perfect hotel.

Room Tip: Choose the room between 50th Floor and 59th Floor with if possible the view of the river

This was our first stop when we arrived in Bangkok; and it did not disappoint. The rooms were very large, clean and modern with nice (partial) views of the Chao Phraya River. lebua proved to be a quick walk to the river which provides easily accessible and cheap transportation to "old Bangkok" so you can see the Grand Palace and the beautiful Wats around the city. Sky Bar on the rooftop (best known for it's roll in The Hangover II) is not to be missed. Amazing views of the city, extremely expensive drinks but a one of a kind experience; looking down over the maybe 3 foot tall glass "wall" surrounding the round bar is not for the faint of heart. You'll get in trouble if you take pictures looking away from the hotel (you get told not to and that's about it), but you can snap as many photos you want of the gold dome. We spent 3 nights here and it proved to be a great home base for exploring the city in all directions while providing a comfortable stay in an upscale hotel at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: The higher up you stay the better the view

me and my friend were travelling Asia, obviously on a tight budget, but we had heard such great reviews on the bar we wanted to see for ourselves, so it was nice to dress up and see the other side of Asia. The drinks were expensive for what they were, but the view from the roof was the best thing I have ever seen!! I couldn't even take a photo good enough to show. you have to see with your own eyes!!! The best thing to see in Bangkok by far. Would recommend it to anyone.

I'm writing this before my stay wraps, having contemplated checking out of here ahead of schedule, as it is one mishap after another here. While the hotel is elegant, and they even upgraded me to their fancier bank of the highest floors, I have been disappointed by almost everyone I've dealt with here.

What's good: the room is very comfortable, the shades do a pretty good (but not perfect) job at keeping the light out, the hotel is in a great location near the ferry and metro (plus some great street food stalls right outside), the breakfast is an excellent spread, and a lot of people working here do seem to mean well.

What's not so good: I've had one issue after another. I signed a disclaimer about the policy for not bringing things out on to the balcony, but then found the doors locked and didn't realize you needed to request permission separately for them to remove the locks from the doors. The internet doesn't work well across the entire suite; they brought in a wireless router to extend the signal after acknolweding the problem, but I still have trouble accessing it from the bedroom. The TV here repeatedly turned off after watching a channel for several minutes, then turning back on again to the same channel several minutes later. I asked them to fix it, and they sent maintenance out while I was gone. When I returned, they said maintenance didn't fix anything because they couldn't replicate the problem I had repeatedly, so they made it clear that because the technician couldn't figure out what was wrong, they'd just assume the problem didn't exist (of course, it occurred again when I got back to the room). The bathroom sink stopper didn't block up the drain, so they sent someone to caulk it up when they were fixing the TV, even though I asked them not to until after I checked out, and then as they fixed this late at night, they told me I couldn't use the sink for an hour after I was finished. The safe stopped working on me one day; they needed to send a team to manually reset it. Once the TV was supposedly working, HBO and another movie channel cut out for awhile, and the front desk later told me it was because of heavy rain coming (note: an hour later - still no rain, though the signal did come back for me 30 minutes later).

There are a lot of great looking hotels in Bangkok. As someone who stays at dozens of hotels a year and has a good if not excellent experience at just about all of them, I'd wholeheartedly recommend finding a different one.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor if you want a great view of the city

Spent 3 nights in a gorgeous 64 sq. metre Tower club suite at the very top of the building, enjoying the spectacular river view. The room was immaculate, cleaned 3 times a day, marble bathsuite with bvlgari amenities, fluffy robes and towels and high thread count sheets bleached and pressed to perfection. Attentive staff, who despite the size of the hotel and number of guests remembered to address me by name. Great breaksfast buffet, amazing service. Nice pool/lounge area, great sky bar.
