“Another great stay at this hotel”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

This is about our sixth stay at this older style hotel. Sure it is showing it's age, but they have modernised the guest rooms which are very comfortable. I think the staff are efficient, rather than overly friendly, and notice that some international travellers mistake this and get irritated. For me no problems. Although the BTS connection is adjacent to the hotel be warned that there is no lift/elevator access. So if you have heavy luggage you have to carry it up and down stairs at the station as well as the hotel which can be back breaking. I have no reservation in recommending this hotel.

Room Tip: General tip: Just across from the hotel entrance is a bar/restaurant complex serving cheap and tasty...

Stayed here about 8 years ago on our last trip through Thailand heading on to the UK. We loved it and I was a little worried about booking again after reading some reviews on here. However, we got a good price online so thought I'd just go with it.

Arrived, and they had double-booked so upgraded us! Bit confusing at check-in though, they make you pay a deposit, which you get back when you check-out. This stressed us out, however we had to do it to get the key and all went smoothly. They put your cash in the safe (or your credit card receipt which is not actually processed yet) then give it back to you when you check-out. Don't worry about this, it was absolutely fine but I wish we had known before-hand.

So room was lovely (beds hard though, as in most thai hotels..), location amazing with skytrain link joined onto the hotel. We loved the pools, beautiful (but spa broke which was unfortunate - though workers came to fix it immediately). But best of all, and as I remembered, was the best buffet breakfast I have had. It was delicious with everything you could possibly ever want for breakfast and great service too. Tables cleared promptly, loads of staff.

Lots happening in the lobby, a really fun place to have a drink, lights and music etc going all night! One night we had dinner at the restaurant (average food but ok if you can't be bothered going out), and there was an Elvis impersonator (Thai!) singing, was hilarious!

Tip: for a cheap dinner (50baht) buy a 1 stop ticket to Siam centre. Food court with millions of options and really nice food.

My husband & I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights before a cruise, and it was great! The location can't be beat - a skytrain station right out front makes getting around very easy. There is also a money exchange office right around the corner and lots of little food carts along the street that we tried most evenings. The breakfast every morning was a bonus. Even though we aren't big breakfast eaters there was a very good selection of fruits and breads to tide us over, and it looked like there was more than enough choice for bigger appetites. We ate at the Brazilian restaurant one night and it was fabulous! (and very filling!!!)
The room was a good size and very clean - but a little outdated. We found the staff to be extremely polite and helpful and had no negative issues during our stay. We will definitely stay there again the next time we go to Bangkok.
p.s. love, love love all the little foot rub(massage) places just outside the hotel. We had Thai foot massages every evening after long days of exploring and we were in heaven! Only $6.00 for a whole hour!!

My Wife and I have stayed at this hotel many time over the last 20 years or so, the location is second to none, the hotel has its own Sky Train Station attached to the hotel, (I think it is the only hotel that has) it is right in the centre of Bangkok just by the MBK centre, the hotel it's self has changed very little over the time we have been staying there and could do with up dating in many areas but it is clean,

Room Tip: You get the ticket for the Sky Train at the hotel reception or at the gate to the platform in the st...

Walking distance to mbk.
Has its own sky train station.
Decent food. Brazillian is food for lunch.
Two average pools.
Breakfast is OK. Included in the room, otherwise go elsewhere.
Good sized rooms. Aircon works. Average to good level of condition. Clean, few things a little worn extra.

Good value. Will stay again.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in December 2012. The hotel has easy access to the skytrain so travelling to/from the hotel was a breeze from virtually anywhere in Bangkok. When we checked in , there was a few minor hiccups with the room (we booked a double bed room well in advance and on arrival there were 'apparently' only rooms with 2 single beds available. The girl at reception was not too friendly and very unhelpful, but my wife insisted that they sort out their mixup. Long story sort, we eventually were allocated a room with a double bed after a protracted check in.) The room was very good with aircon, tv, bath with shower. The breakfast was very good with a huge variety to choose from. There was however one morning where the big breakfast room was full and they moved the rest of us to the conference room which was turned into a makeshift breakfast room. It was very disorganised and we did not enjoy our breakfast as much as the previous days. Other than that, it is a pretty decent hotel for a 3 to 5 days stay.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the pool and the jacuzzi
