This is really a Super Top Hotel!

We have stayed here 10 days with our three kids in two separate rooms with a connecting door. The kids could swim or go into the markets outside. Opposit the hotel is huge shopping area called Platinum, and around the corner is Central World also a mega shopping location.

The people really were so friendly and helpful.
The doorman/woman, the assistants in the bakery, the deskpeople, the roomservice and everybody else off the staff were really outstanding!!!

Our special thanks go to Ms. Thitaree and Ms Jintara.

Really, when you are in Bangkok, this is one of the best places to be.

Prices are low compared with other five star hotels.
Service is 100%
Food is 100%

Stop searching and book this hotel.
You won`t regret it!

We managed to get a cheap price for a grand deluxe room with king size bed and large bathtub. The room was magnificent. Service was excellent also. I recommend getting breakfast with your room. It is a buffet with many different types of breakfast foods to cater for many nationalities. Top notch. It is surrounded by shopping malls, one is Centrepoint and many markets so shopaholics would do well to stay here. The pool has a great tropical theme and nicely divided up areas within the pool so it doesn't feel crowded. I will be staying here again in future. I have stayed at other Amari hotels in Bangkok and this was the best for me in terms of location and standard of the rooms.

Check-in was a bit of an annoyance. There were no lines and so we simply waited for our turn. But when other guests that arrived after us got served ahead of us, I immediately called the attention of the receptionists and told them we were there ahead of the others.

The thai people have a very bad reputation of being rude. You just need a stomach for it and try to be firm when you know you're right. They apologized and 1 receptionist immediately attended to our family - with much hospitality and kindness.

We were given rooms in the club floors - very nice and spacious, bathrooms have 2 sinks, a bathtub and shower area. The toilets are quite loud. The mini bar is well stocked and complimentary bottled water is provided. LIterally, the complimentary bottles are in glass bottles, not what we usually see in plastic bottles - don't worry, I believe the water is safe as the bottles were sealed.

If you're in Bangkok for some shopping, Amari Watergate is one of the best hotels to stay in. All around it are bargain shops and right across it is the Platinum Mall. One weird rule to most shops in this area applies - NO FITTING. You can only hope the items you are buying will fit you - you can measure it (bring a tape measure!) or just drape it in front of you.

Amari is reputed to having one of the best spas in Thailand and it would be a good idea to try their foot massage - which usually includes your thighs, down to your toes.

Their wi-fi internet is free in the lobby. Try their cookies and cakes or even have breakfast at the hotel bakery - whatever you buy from the bakery, you can also eat at the hotel lobby. It's quite good and reasonable. 7-11 is located in Platinum Mall ground floor.

It all "okay" but really not all that good like the reviews here made me hope. I get the sense that the place was patched up instead of renovated but now it really needs renovation. The rooms are really not sexy or sensual at all. The lighting is bright and not dimable, bathroom light is cold florescent. There are no outlets anywhere near the bed (had to call for an extension cord). The bathroom had peeled paint a bit and extensive stained grout caulking. They don't provide toothbrushes by default. The sink and tub drains are very slow to drain (kept pulling them up to make it work). The shower head is set for someone about 5'5" tall. Water flow and temp is great at least. There is no hand-held shower except in the separate bath. The toilette is locker-room power flush style (very loud) There is an awkward step down to the bathroom floor (they have a warning sign). The tile is 12" tile and looks like it is from the 80's. The furniture's wood finish is a icky orange paint--kinda tacky looking, not sexy at all. Chairs and table are just fine at least. The carpet looks nice and is clean but seems there is no carpet pad underneath so feels like you're walking on carpeted concrete. The mattress feels like a hard box-spring. Rest of bedding is okay. There's a flat screen TV which is the only modern looking part of the room. Internet works well (my rate included it but is expensive if not). Elevators are not keyed (I like that). The breakfast was okay but Conrad is has more delights. Taxis seem to have a hard time knowing where the hotel is so make sure you have the taxi card when you go out. All told. I will easily seek out other places before returning here unless there is a tremendous deal here (say <$80/night with internet)

Hotel was nice, staff was really great, but the international food was not very good. We tried the italian and chinese, and finally gave up and ate out the rest of the trip. If you go to shop, this is the place. The concierge has a local map to give and identifies the best places to go. Close to Cowboy Soi too!

My sister (who's based in Dubai) and I arranged a surprise birthday trip for our mom. We booked at Amari Watergate from June 19-22 and June 24-25. Our stay was terrific! All the staff are friendly and accommodating.

The rooms were really clean and modern in design. Upon checking in, our luggages were brought to our room and as we entered, there were fresh fruits and flowers inside. During our first night - we brought some roasted chicken and pork from Manila (Philippines). I called the room service and asked if they can warm the food that we brought and they agreed. When the server brought our warmed food back, he even brought in plates and cutleries along with a serving table with fresh rose.

Their service was very prompt. The selection of the international breakfast buffet is awesome. The Spa Facility is the best. Their promo packages are the greatest with no hidden charges nor false advertising. Their staff are the friendliest and the nicest too. Also, the hotel had a tour desk where you can book last minute tours for your itinerary the following day. :)

The one thing that moved us the most was during the night of June 21 - our mom's birthday, when we came home from the Grand Chao Praya Cruise, when we arrived at our hotel room, there was a chocolate cake and a birthday card waiting as a surprise for mom. We even called the frontdesk to ask how they knew about our mom's birthday and they said that they got it from her passport when we checked in. We are very thankful for this nice gesture of the Amari staff.

During our last 2 days and 1 night stay in Amari Watergate (from Pattaya), we checked out late and was told that we are supposed to pay additional half of the nightly room rate but the assistant manager discounted the late check out fee to just 1500BAHT from 2500+BAHT.

Our week long vacation in Thailand wouldn't be so memorable if we didn't stay in Amari Watergate Hotel. This was surely our home when we were away from our real one. Keep up the good service guys! See you again soon.
