JW equates high quality standard, services & security. Generally staffs (across the board) is exceptionally polite & courteous. Rooms are clean & quiet, the working desk is well layout with socket points & cables. Breakfast @ cafe is of very good standard. The spa/gym/pool is well maintained. Hotel has very good Jap, Thai, Western restaurants. Winding down the evening with a drink @ lobby lounge, with live thai classical music & live grand piano performance.

Room Tip: 14th non smoking floor

I stayed in JW Marriot Bangkok on Christmas Eve. I found it average:

(1) Upon arrival, the doorman saw me carrying heavy luggage, but he did not offer to assist, not even open the door for me, no "sawadee"... holiday mood ?
(2) I requested high floor, good view, but my room was facing a rusty rooftop of office building;
(3) The room right opposite to me is the staff storage room, the room kept opened and closed loudly fpr over 30 times in the morning - and the room is not well sound proof;
(4) The deluxe room I booked was averagely okay. Small in Bangkok standard - Conrad is better in terms of room quality;
(5) The breakfast hall is congested with tour group, and I left in 5 minutesand get a coffee in Starbuks nearby;
(6) I was not allowed to take photos of Christmastree - right !!!! they have such policy !!!!!
(7) No none bothered to say a "sawadee" - strange in thailand indeed.

For the price I paid, I will go to Grand Hyatt, Conrad, InterContinental.... anywahere but JW Marriot.

Room Tip: Avoid room 1234.

Mr. B and family love this hotel. I don't need to tell you where it is located ot what it looks like. What I do need to tell you is that the Executive Lounge is the best that I have seen anywhere in the Marriott system.
When you have an excellent hotel like the JW, it is all about the people. The Thai people are wonderful and when you combine that with Marriotts customer service you have an unbeatable combination. To experience World class customer service, 24 hour pampering, fantastic local and International cuisine, full bar and all of it included in the cost of your room....not to forget the most professional staff imaginable. If you think the age of service is dead, think again and make sure you stay on the executive club floor. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Upgrade to an executive club room, you won't regret it.

I have travelled world wide for work and even though the reviews say the executive lounge is first class, in my view it is ok. We arrived for afternoon tea and with more then 40 minutes till service ended they said they had run out of food. This is not 5 star service. The hotel claim the windows are sound proofed, they aren't! I can hear the sky train as I type. I don't like my chances of getting a goof nights sleep. I stayed at the intercontinental in bangkok earlier this week and I would recommend the intercontinental over the Marriott hands down. Service, rooms and club floor lounge outstanding. In summary this hotel is more like a 4 star. Rooms need a renovation and new windows fitted.

This is a great place to stay for business travelers. The hotel is beautiful, the location is decent for getting around certain areas of Bangkok, and the hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Furthermore, the executive lounge is amazing and a wonderful place to relax at the end of a busy day (hors d'oeuvres, drinks, Wifi, views).

Pros:
- Nice presentation, design, accommodations
- Exec Lounge
- One of the best hotel gyms I've seen
- Great pool

Cons:
- 45 min, >700B taxi ride (>$22 US) from the airport

General notes:
- 110V or 220v available (through front desk)
- Free internet in rooms
- English speaking and foreign TV channels
- No one in our group got sick from food or water!

This hotel is situated on Sukhumvit Rd. and only a short walking distance to BTS (Sky train) station. It is also near to the express highway which is always a big help during Bangkok's rush hours. It also offers one of the best dinner buffet in Bangkok where you can dine on Foie Gras and Alaska King Crab. Their Japanese restaurant named Tsu offers really fresh sushi and sashimi, flown in directly from Japan twice a week. The area around hotel is full of night street-shopping, entertainments and international restaurants. I recommend this hotel for business travelers but not for family with kids.

Room Tip: I recommend the room on high floor where you can enjoy Bangkok view at night.
