I stay regularly in Bangkok with my fiancee and Chateau de Bangkok is our choice for a home away from home.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the one bedroom serviced apartment that we get is large and fully equipped with a kitchen, DVD player and a wonderfully large jacuzzi bath.
The hotel is showing its age but the rates are corresponding and therefore is good value. Breakfast at the restaurant is pleasant and not overpriced like some hotels.
The location seems a bit strange at first, but it is actually very well located, with a short taxi ride to MBK and Paragon malls for 60 baht ($2), and the BTS station is only 10 minutes walk away. Also there is a mall straight across the road which is part of the Conrad Hotel complex. The mall has an excellent supermarket (Tops) and cafes and restaurants and other shops, making it very easy to buy your own food and have in the serviced apartment.
I recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't need the latest glitzy decor and wants value for money.

We were planning to stay for 2 weeks but checked out on the 2nd day! The hotel is outdated, unkept and terrible. We had booked a 2 bedroom apartment and when we checked in- we were shocked when we entered the room. The kitchen was dirty, the bathrooms had tubs with huge yellow stains on them, dirty, hair all over the bathroom. Basically the house keeping was just terrible and the electronics like the tv etc outdated. There was a charge of 350 baht a day for using wi fi- which seems pretty high considering most hotels provide wi fi free now. The most shocking experience was when we asked housekeeping for a toothbrush- and suddenly without any bell on knock at the door we find a man standing in the apartment when I stepped outside the room. He had just entered without our knowledge and then on checking the door- the lock did not work- how scary is that. Seriously anever stay in bangkok! Also the location is not the most ideal as in a bylane.

An older hotel with great suites with all the comforts of home. Huge bathroom with large bath, seperate kitchen, seperate walk in robe, comfortable queen bed and lounge room.
Pool on roof with no shade problems and great views. We enjoyed a great meal on the outside dinning/bar area upstairs. The staff were great fun and looked after us very well and the view was great. Close to Phloenchit MRT and walking distance to Nana and Sukhumvit Road. Quick exit to airport via the freeway.

Didn't love it, but acceptable for what you pay. The rooms are quite spacious, so if small rooms aren't your thing, consider it. However, furnishings are very basic, somewhat dated and slightly tired looking, but overall clean. Walking distance to BTS sky train station and close to Paragon Siam. What I liked is that the pool gets sun all day. Many hotels in Bangkok have the pool in the shade half of the day. Other than that, your typical 3-star hotel property.
