It's an amazing place to stay in the heart of the city. All near by top locations of shopping, shrines are available at a walking distance. Good amenities and quality service. Welcome drinks, bowl of fruits without any cost was a warm gesture on first day.
Lot of facilities in the hotel can be used. Specially pool on 37th floor on any evening is a great experience.
Awesome lift facility. 37th floor can be reach from Lobby in just few seconds. Don't have to wait longer for lifts even during peak time (morning hr, lunch hr, evening hr)
Oven facility in the room is lacking. Except for that, all things are convenient

Room Tip: Choose "non-smoking room" if you are not a smoker!

A terrific property, great location and top service is the BKK Intercontinental. Upon arrival on a Friday evening during the recent political protests, we were escorted to the Exec Lounge for welcome and checkin by the very helpful Ivonna. We enjoyed the lavish appetizers (which turned in to our dinner, given our exhaustion), along with glasses of some very fine wine. We then were given keys to our room, which turned out to be an upgraded corner suite with stunning views of the city. We then ventured to the rooftop pool deck to enjoy the view. While small, it's also a great spot to admire the view, plus have a drink. Our Mai Tais were noticeably made with little or no alcohol. After mentioning this, the barman remade them for us - a lot stronger to be sure! The fitness facility is one of the nicest and most extensive for a hotel. For those who try to keep their regular fitness regime while on the road, this gym has everything you need, plus views from the 35th floor. Despite the road closures and encampments just outside the hotel during our visit, the staff was amazingly helpful, professional and kind. We definitely would like to return when the surroundings are back to normal to experience the exceptional service we had during this stay.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and were more than impressed.
We got a taxi metre from the International Airport for 1,000 THB and on arrival were warmly greeted.
As my husband is a member of the IHG programme we were upgraded to a luxury suite. We do recommend paying the extra for the use of the Club facilities, much worth it.
Our suite was luxurious and spacious with a very comfortable bed and pillows. The room was extremely clean and well maintained.
The pool (provides towels) boasts an amazing city view and was much enjoyed.
The Club provided free drinks and canapés from 5.30 - 8.00pm, definitely a must, the breakfast was also very good. We did not get an opportunity unfortunately to try the afternoon tea.
The staff were more than accommodating and friendly.
We would definitely stay again as well as recommend to both family and friends.

Our final stop after 10weeks of travelling and simply wanted a restful three days before flying home.
Unfortunately outside the hotel was a permanent anti-government demo and camp site, although once inside the hotels ivory towers you could not hear the constant noise.
We were aware of what was going on before our visit and the hotel staff were full of useful hints and precautions to navigate around these demos.
We did not let this upset our stay in Bangkok, but the city was very low on tourists, but the hotel did provide us with lovely accommodation and the usual excellent service.

Departed from Helsinki on New Year's Eve, about half an hour from BKK airport to the hotel by taxi, we arrived to a very quiet city around 9 a.m. on January 1st.

On arrival at reception we were escorted to the Club Lounge on the 37th floor for check-in with a fruity drink & breakfast, my wife was given a mini-teddy bear in IC livery.

We were to be upgraded to a Junior suite (Ambassador Platinum) which naturally wasn't ready so early in the day - still they assigned us a temporary room on the 29th floor to freshen up - very nice room.

Had a couple of hours sleep before going out for a wander, came back for afternoon snacks in the Club lounge and were assigned 2702 (if I remember correctly).

A corner room - the modest sized living room had a nice panoramic window, a desk, 2
person sofa and armchair, plus a large TV (48"?), DVD and selection of cables to hook your PC up to the telly.

Through the living room was a dressing room, leading on to the bedroom and bathroom.

Bathroom with very spacious shower, a reasonable bath, decent toiletries, v. good soap.
The bedroom, very good bed with another large TV similar to the living room.

OK selection of TV channels, WiFi connection not the fastest, but reasonable for TV downloads

For those with Club lounge access, the views are very nice, a good breakfast selection, in the afternoon there is afternoon tea, then a cocktail happy hour followed by evening snacks ... hard to resist it all.

We ate dinner in the hotel just once, Thai restaurant on the lower ground floor, it was passable, but nothing spectacular and probably found better food in the restaurants of the Central World mall on the next block (5 minute walk from the hotel) go to the 7th floor.

P.s. the 7th floor of Central World also has a great supermarket stocking goods from around the world incase you forgot to pack something.

The hotel is located next to the BTS Skytrain walkway running above Ploen Chit. The nearest BTS station is Chit Lom, or you can walk several blocks in the opposite direction to Siam station (near the Siam Paragon mall. The walkway is a nice way to get a view of the street without having to mix with the cars below.

Very good concierge service in the hotel lobby organised a driver to take us on a day trip around the ruined temples of Ayutthaya a couple of hours drive away. Left at 08:30 and returned about 18:00, a really nice daytrip.

Lucky for us we were there whilst the protestors were on holiday ... it all kicked off again 5 days after we left.

Room Tip: We had a junior suite, the hotel is so high with not so many tall buildings around that I suppose mo...

I came here with my wife on our honeymoon for our stay in Bangkok. Prior to arriving I heard that this hotel was one of the nicest hotels in Bangkok and it did not disappoint.

After a long trip arriving, we arrived at the Intercontinental to warm welcomes and a spectacular room. Thew view was amazing and the staff was amongst the most professional and friendly I have ever experienced.

I have stayed at a lot of hotels in my life and this one is probably the nicest and best experience I have had.

Food: The morning breakfasts were wonderful and their room service and on premises restaurants were excellent. Every expectation and desire were met with timeliness and a warm smile. On a side note, I highly recommend having a drink by the pool. We just found time to do it on our last night and wish we would have gone up there more often.

Staff: Simply the best. They made sure I knew where I was going and safely made it to any destinations. The concierge was excellent and the staff took care of any request we had. They even rush shipped something back to the US for me as I was short on time heading to our next location.

Location: Perfect location. Great for shopping and a short distance to many of the local sights.

I cannot recommend this hotel more. I regularly stay at five diamond hotels and this is amongst, if not the, best. Cannot say more about this place and my room on the club level was a great bargain for what we got.

Room Tip: Go with the club rooms. Way worth the extra amount.
