Owner description: ASIATIQUE The Riverfront will be Bangkok’s first large-scale riverside project combining shopping, dining, sightseeing, activities and events under one roof. The strong cultural aspect is what sets it apart from other shopping malls. Embracing history, but avoiding the cultural clichés and traditional symbols, it strikes a balance between tradition and globalization.

Asiatique which is located on Bangkok's waterfront opens at 5 PM. The free shuttle down Chao Phraya takes about 15 minutes. Boats are marked and leave every 15 minutes from the Saphan Taksin pier. Asiatique is a nice, safe shopping area with many restaurants. Wide nicely landscaped streets run between the refurbished warehouses, once the site of an international trading company. A ride on the huge eluminated 60 meter Ferris wheel which can be seen from from far, costs 250 baht.

Visited here back in July for husband's birthday. We had our daughters with us aged 10 and 8 and started by getting the free shuttle from Saphan Taksin. The boat gets very crowded and you have to queue up prior and then's there's a bit of a kerfuffle when the boat arrives, so watch your step. Once there it's a great place to wander around, plenty of river front restaurants and bars and then going back from the river more places and plenty of stalls to wander around. A variety of things to buy from the usual tourist stuff to high end homewares and things you don't see everywhere. We ate at one of the small restaurants in the middle and had one of the best meals ever, delicious and relatively cheap. The boat ride back to Saphan Taksin was much quieter. I have said this is wheelchair accessible, obviously not from a boat but would be if arriving by taxi.

A shopping centre with some restaurants. That's about it really.

You can get a free boat from Saphan Taksin to Asiatique. Follow the signs at the train station. The pier is to the left (sign post is near the pier). The boat is pretty easy to spot as it had a bright pink top to it with "Asiatique" plastered on it.

The boat is free and is a nice trip down the river.

My 2nd visit since September 2013.
Comfy place to stroll along with young kids as the walkways are wide. Things and food are not cheap. Average prices. But unique clothes n home decor stuff are what you can find here. There's also a naraya outlet here too. This is a touristy attraction.

Nice place to refresh from the humming city , hang out, shopping and dining

restaurants are expensive related to the city, yet serving international food, which is normally more expensive then Thai food.

The area is similar to others in the world, lack of Thai character & atmosphere, so don't try to look for it...
