Owner description: The Loha Prasat is an amazing building with an iron roof made of 37 spires signifying the 37 enlightenment virtues of Buddhism. It is listed on wikitravel - http://wikitravel.org/en/Bangkok/Rattanakosin#b, but ought to be available to Trip Advisor visitors.

“Definitely worth a visit -- a very inspiring temple”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

You will be the only ones in this temple when you visit it. No one knows about it. It is not on any tour bus schedule, and is a little challenging to find.

The structure itself is a grid of hallways each opening to the outside. At the end of each hallway is a view of one of the many spires on each side of the building. As you climb the stairs to each successive floor, the views of the spires change, and you will experience something of an optical illusion.

Along the hallways are many opportunities to meditate, prompted by inspiring Buddhist themes. I'm not a Buddhist, but I found myself deep in reflection at many of the stations.

I'm looking forward to visiting Loha Prasat again on my next visit to Bangkok.

“Excellent Castle Temple in Bangkok”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

In Bangkok after your visit Grand Palace, Wat Arun, one more important temple you must go is Loha Prasat, with castle style, very unique in Bangkok. The colour of the tower is white and black, and plenty of small towers in the main tower.

“Unfortunately it's on the wrong place on the map...”
Reviewed November 5, 2013 via mobile

Place on the map is wrong... not much to say about it as I did not manage to go there. Check on Google maps if you intend to visit this wat. The real destination is about 20 minutes by public transportation from the spot on this map...

Wonderful reflective space with detailed fabulous views of the city... Stumbled on it through the helpfulness of a police officer!
