I stayed here with my boyfriend and 2 friends in June while working at Ramithibodi hospital on Rama 6 road. We booked it after our supervisor at the hospital recommended it.
Me and my boyfriend payed 20,000 baht for a one bedroom apartment and my two friends payed 30,000 for a two bedroom one for the month. This doesn't include the electricity, which cost us around 8,000 baht for the month and we used the air con every night. The apartments are beautiful and very big. Just what we needed after a long day of heat, annoying language barriers and hard work! We had a living area with a huge TV, a kitchen dining area, an extra little siting area, a large bedroom with another large tv in, and two bathrooms. The floors get dirty very quickly, and as there isn't a cleaning service we spent a lot of time and money on cleaning! There is one washing machine that costs 30 baht (plus you need to buy the washing powder), as all the apartments were sharing the one machine, a lot of the time it wasn't available when we needed it.
There is a pool which is kept clean and is great to sit around in the afternoon and evening. The staff there are very laid back, they didn't even seem to mind when some friends of ours from another room were jumping off the first floor balconies into the pool! The lady who works in the reception area speaks very good English and is happy to help with any problems. There is a computer available in the reception area but it is very slow. There is no wifi, you need to bring a laptop that can connect to the landline (or buy a wifi router like some other people did). There is a gym but it ony has four machines, the cross trainer being "Thai sized" meaning someone of normal size (I am only 5ft 4 and 9 stone) just bangs there legs on the front of the machine!
The location is good if u are working on Rama 6, however it wouldn't be great for someone on holiday or there to travel. It was only a 5 minute walk to Ramithibodi hospital, which was great for us. However it is quite a walk to the nearest BTS (victory monument) and about a 20 min taxi ride to the Siam area or khao San road. There isnt really anything around except a lot of chickens, locals and a tuk tuk repair shop... There is a 7eleven at the end of the road though which was very useful for drinks and brekkie on the way to work. Getting back to the apartments in a taxi was a pain until we learnt enough Thai to give directions and ask in Thai. Possibly because drivers probably assumed we'd be staying in a tourist area, so they were confused when we mentioned the apartment name (which only one driver had ever heard of). If you say "pra ram hok" - which means Rama 6, and then "soy 28" or "soy yee sib bpad", you will usually get back ok!
All in all we had a great stay at president boutique. It was quite expensive but definitely worth it if you are in Bangkok for a long time. The city can get quite annoying with how busy it is, and with the lack of English speaking people around that area. But it always made things better to have a great apartment to go home to!
