We have eaten here twice already and the food has been exceptional both times. It's very clean, beautiful decor, lovely veranda downstairs and exterior balcony upstairs. The staff are very attentive and friendly with prompt service. There is both western and Thai food on the menu and is all very reasonably priced. Kiwi owner Dave does most of the cooking and when he gets a chance he'll come and say hello!
Definitely worth trying the Aussie beef fillet!

Such a great spot to hang out and enjoy really good food and a few (or several) drinks with friends. The cheeseburger was superb! Dave clearly has very high standards - echoed in his team. Will definitely return next time I'm in Bangkok!

Tip - get a table on the 1st floor outside space - great for people watching!

Check out this cool place and you are sure to receive a super warm welcome from Kiwi Dave and his team. Great place to just hang out for a beer or even better if you want really tasty food. We made a couple of visits trying burgers and steak. The real stand out winner was the beer battered fish n chips though, it really was EXCELLENT. Keep up the good work Dave we hope to be back soon. Most of all though mate keep LIVING THE DREAM...!!!!!!!!

I've been to Dave's gastropub on Soi 22 a couple of times now, and always enjoyed the experience. Dave is a New Zealander (don't get confused and ask him how an Australian ended up in Thailand because he takes it personally!) with a dedication to quality cuisine. The restaurant has two floors. The first floor is the restaurant, with big tables for large groups as well as romantic corners. The floor is bare concrete which contrasts nicely with the handsome woodwork. The bar is always busy, usually with foreign visitors, and offers a good mix of bourbons and scotch whiskey. The menu isn't overwhelmingly large but every dish I have tried was tasty, so maybe there's something to be said about being focused on a few good things. Up the wide stairs and you reach an area that's more like a club, with comfy chairs and a balcony overlooking the street (see photo). Somehow or other, I usually end up on the balcony, hanging over the railing, watching and talking and enjoying the special ambiance of Soi 22 and Bangkok in general. The staff is always friendly and the prices are reasonable (for western food). Give "No Idea" a try.
