“Good choice for budget travelers. Value for money.”

Located within 5 minutes walk from Surasak BTS Station. Near to Si-Lom area. Suitable for budget traveler or for a short stay.

To/From Airport - A metered Taxi to/from Don Muang or Subarnabvhumi airport costs about 350 Baht including toll fee and driver charge. About 1 hour drive to any of the airports through toll road.

Local Transport - Sathon Soi 11 is easy to locate and hotel provides free Tuk Tuk ride to nearby BTS station.

Reservations - I was told by the front desk that they have book 2 nights and get 1 night free offer. Call hotel to confirm this promotion. Check-in and check-out was fast.
Friendly English speaking staff. On Check-out hotel staff quickly arranged a metered taxi.

Room and sleep quality - We stayed in a studio room with very comfortable queen bed , large LCD TV and you can borrow DVD from front desk free of charge, cool air conditioning and a clean room with city view. No balcony. We stayed in room 607 and this room was free from any construction or outside noises.

Locker available in room. Fast and free Wi-Fi internet. Small but clean bathroom with overhead a rain shower.

Restaurant and room service - No room service. A small cafe is located ground floor of the hotel. No full service restaurant available. We went to nearby Silom road for diner (walk able distance or 60 Baht TukTuk).

Good value for money and shall stay again in Marvin Suites. Thank you.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 607, This room was free from any construction / outside noises. Rooms towards rare...

Excellent value for money. Close to Bangkok Skytain network. Easy access from the aiport if landing during day time. Rail certainly easiest way into Bangkok from airport. And cheapest. No pool however. Nice cafe near entrance.

Room Tip: My room didn't have greatest view. Odd numbered I think

Stayed here for 3 nights and i was really amazed with the service given. I would really recommend this hotel and would certainly come again to this hotel when i visit bangkok for another time. Although it quite far from the city, it is situated near the bts surasak station and there are convenient store nearby.

This is a relatively new property, which means it's still clean and things are working. I stayed in a Studio room which had everything I need, including a great AC, good wifi connection, a mini fridge, a nice Queen-size bed, and a great shower. What more can you ask for in BKK?

The staff were pleasant and polite, but I noticed some trainees would take longer than normal to accomplish tasks.

Yes, as other reviewers noted, there is construction going on across the street, probably for at least 1-2 years. Ask for a quiet room facing the back. As for internal noise, I didn't notice anything unusual.

I didn't try the breakfast.

Location is a 7-8 min walk from Surasak BTS (Silom line). The soi 11 itself is quiet at night, as is all of Sathorn Ave actually. It means you have to go to Silom or Sukhumvit at night.

The nearest big supermarket is a Tops at Saphan Taksin, one BTS stop away.

If going to hotel by taxi, just say "St Louie ho pi tal", every taxi driver in BKK knows where this is.

awful service. they wanted us to pay for an extra towel (we were 4 persons and got 2), we had to make our own bed for our child (they had no sheet and asked extra cash for another blanket!), sewage was clogged, the hotel is very noisy from other rooms, other toilets. lighting was bad - drapes did not block sunlight.
bellboy was whistling all day for taxis - even when we were asleep.
terrible stay. would not repeat.

Room Tip: top floor, since toilet flush from the floor above you makes noise.

I booked six nights on Agoda at the Marvin Suites (MS) and still marvel at the low cost, especially for a fairly well located 3.5-star lodging: $167 (including taxes) for the stay, with 2 nights free (every 3rd night). At $28/night, MS may be the best value in Bangkok.

I ended up only staying a few hours at MS (more on that in a bit), but apart from the noise factor (and to some extent the way-down-Sathorn location), I can recommend MS to budget travelers who want something more than just a basic room. As other reviewers have noted, MS has very well-equipped rooms for what you pay: they're not huge (I saw two rooms, one on the 7th (top) floor and one (where I slept off jet lag for a few hours) on the 6th), but the furnishings are decent. The dark wood made the already-considerable wear-and-tear less noticeable, and the huge, new 42" Samsung TV puts some 5-star hotels to shame. The shower is excellent: walk-in (no tub), with good pressure and a square "rainfall" shower head.

About the noise: everyone has different noise tripwires, but the noise levels in MS were too much for me. There was (in late March 2013) an active construction site across the street from MS, which I heard very clearly from my first (7th-floor) room. MS's helpful staff offered me the 6th-floor room, on the opposite side of the building. This was a bit better -- overlooking neighboring houses' balconies and apartments -- but also with neighborhood noise (banging on metal from an adjacent house) clearly coming in through the thin glass of the windows and balcony door. I booked another hotel (the Metropolitan; I'll put an updated review on that next week), popped in my earplugs, and slept as the neighbors' metal banging took a lunch break.:) I also noted what other reviewers mentioned re the internal MS noise; the bare hallway and room floors and thin walls and doors let other guests' (and staff) comings and goings make their way into your room.

Three other MS strong points: (1) the excellent TV has plenty of channels (including BBC and CNN; (2) the internet is very fast; I saw 14-15 Mbps; and (3) the helpful and friendly staff. They graciously accommodated my early departure, charging me just for early check-in (at around 09:00) -- for which I paid 500 baht (about $16) -- and one night's stay (fair enough, as I did sleep in and otherwise use the room). They got me a taxi and cheerfully wished me a good stay.

Summing up, MS offers impressive value (I forgot to mention the free bottles of water in the room's small fridge) and amenities for such a reasonably priced lodging. Most 2- and 3-star budget places in BKK cost more than MS, and I doubt many -- if any -- offer what the MS does. The exterior and interior noise levels were fairly high, but not that surprising for a small building in a busy neighborhood. (And where in Bangkok isn't?)

Do your homework and book accordingly.

Very nice boutique hotel, on a side alley off the busy streets in Bangkok.

Very friendly staff went out of their way to make my stay the best they can. Although outside downtown area, I found the location convenient, within walking distance from BTS and a couple of stations from the pier or Lumphini Park.

Upon my decision to extend my stay I was given a discount (without prompting) from the already discounted price.

Would definitely recommend this place that cares about their customers.
