“Well priced for a nice and clean hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

Stayed in early February at Marvin Suites and I enjoyed my stay. It was my first time to Bangkok and if I was doing things all over again I may have tried to get a little more central in Silom but if you're adventuring Bangkok on a budget, for the price I paid Marvin Suites was very nice.

The room was clean with newer furniture. The bathrooms, especially the shower is great. The hotel is located just down the street from the Heartland Spa which was EXCELLENT and was priced well. Other reviewers are right about the soundproofing. I think the doors sound extra loud when they shut because all of the corridors are bare and have tile floors. If they were carpeted and the walls had wallpaper on them, some pictures and some furniture in the corridor, I think this would buffer the noise. I have polite neighbours that were quiet during my stay so I can't complain.

If you are going adventuring take the BTS. The Surasak BTS station is a few blocks west.

The room is worthy of the price, staffs are friendly n helpful, the only problem is --- BAD soundproofing!!!

My room is in the 6th fl., and i even can hear the next door guests talking.....besides, i dont know why the door closing sound are always so loudly!!

About 10-min-walk from the bts station, n if u back to hotel lately, there are almost NO vendors on the street.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a pleasant stay. The room is far above the usual standards, for the hotel price. Although quite small, we were very impressed with the layout and furniture (if you like modern chic). The huge flat screen TV and film channels, along with the comfy bed and fantastic shower, made a nice relaxing break from the busy streets of Bangkok. The room has a small balcony too, but we had to ask reception to open it as they didn't provide a key.

The hotel and service lacked a few of the basic touches that you generally expect in a midrange hotel.
Our room could have been cleaner. We had many flies in the bathroom (about 15), which later found their way into the bedroom. We asked if we could change rooms to which they told us we could, in a couple of hours. We decided to stay and wait to move our bags to our new room. Hours past and they phoned us to tell us we couldn't move but they would fumigate the room. This irritated us as we'd waited in for them but these things happen.

The general service of the reception staff is average. I must mention the bell boy, he is fantastic, and often jumped in when the reception staff couldn't help us. He has great English and helped us plan our evenings out.

The cafe is good and the English breakfast was the best we've had in our 7 months in Thailand.

The location is a little out of the way ( but only 10mins walk to the BTS). We stayed here to apply for a visa at the Myanmar Embassy which is only a 15minute walk away so ideal for us.

Stayed on NYE, wanted to be able to walk to some of the festivities and not get stuck un traffic when we wanted to go to the airport.
Location- if you want to walk outside and be in the middle of the "action", shopping or old centre...this is not for you. It is close to the BTS, in a safe and quiet area, so it can be convenient that way. We like to walk everywhere (it is a little harder in Thailand with inaccurate maps and streets that have different spellings). It took about 1h to the Malls, cool way to see the newer part of the city.
Rooms-very modern, western style, large, clean, well updated.
Service-there is no restaurant, so no breakfast included. Also big negative- the staff talks loudly in the lobby/adjacent room while cleaning...very disturbing to try and sleep in/get over jet lag.
There are so many hotels in BkK to choose from, most very cheap...it is a very big and busy city too

THis is not a hotel, its more like having your own privat apartment. I stayed in the one bedroo suite for 37 dollars per night (every third night for free). For this price i got a perfect bed, wonderful shower and a 24 hour open home. Good service, nothing to complain. Its customers are mainly middle class asians in their twenties and thirties on holiday and westerners staying for some longer time. Clean, good quality and the one bedroom suite with its kitchenette and fridge with IKEA furniture fitted me well. Thanks

Room Tip: Banyan Tree hotel has 2 bars on the 52 and 59th floor, just a 20 minute walk. To the right 100 mete...

I enjoyed a week at Marvin Suites. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was clean, and comfortable. Window opens, plumbing works, a/c kept room cool, large safe in room held my laptop. The hotel is a short walk off the main street so it's quiet. Easy five minute walk to Surasak BTS (skytrain) station. Lots of good food nearby -- try the soft shell crab in black bean sauce at the littleThai restaurant just a little bit farther south on Soi 11.

Room Tip: Rooms toward the back probably quieter, there's construction going on across the street from the...

This hotel is quite new, clean rooms, very comfortable bed and great shower. For the price it is great value for a basic hotel. Staff are helpful, although they charge you for extra towels. Cleaners will wake you up around 10am with their loud discussions in the hallways so don't plan to sleep in. The hotel is a bit further from either Chong Nonsi or Sarasak BTS than you might think, so expect about 10-15 mins of walking.

Room Tip: The hallways are not carpeted meaning they are very noisy. Perhaps ask for a room at the end of the...
