“Got It Right Second Time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2012

My wife and I stayed two nights. The first night was terrible. When we walked in the room it smelled like smoke. Then I walked into the bathroom and it smelled like sewer. The room was in the back of the hotel with construction just outside the windows. They were clanging and banging around until 11 PM when I finally called the front desk to complain. The consierge said he would talk to them, but by 12:30 AM they were banging metal around again.

The next morning the front desk called and told us that because of my call the night before they had a new room for us in the front of the hotel. It was everything the first room was not. Clean, no smell, and blissfully quiet. It had a better layout as well.

The restaurant was great but the seating was slightly eclectic, and halfway through our meal a maid started polishing the floor two feet from my elbow. Not classy. The whole hotel has lost that fresh feeling.

It was also hard to find. I ended up asking a police officer to help. He had never heard of the "In Residence", and when we pulled up in front of the Radisson he looked at me like I was nuts. Just ask for the Radisson on Soi 13.

So... about 50-50. Am I sorry I went? Not really. Would I go back? Probably not.

Room Tip: Definitely request a room in the front of the hotel. It looks like they'll be building out back...

You can book this place for 45- 60 dollars, though it costs 100.The Residence and Hotel have outdoor swimming pool, sauna, hamam, fitness centre, ball room. The breakfasts are great and have variety of dishes, including sushi.. service is appropriate. It is our 3 visit to Bangkok and we love to stop in this place..Ps..just need to admit..unfortunately construction works are done not far from, so sometines it could be dusty outside..,pls,check before.

Room Tip: deluxe room is better then standart. sometimes windows face the wall

This hotel is the Raddison hotel - i have no idea why they try to confuse people with the name "In Residence" its misleading.

Firstly, the staff are fantastic at this hotel, they cannot do enough for you. Gym equimpment is adequate and it all works, pool is a lap pool and small. Stayed in a one bed apparment with seperate lounge and kitchen area, lots of space here and the two large LCD tvs had lots of channel choices.

Dont be fooled - you cannot cook in this hotel. It does not have cooking equipment other than a microwave oven. the staff however will open cans of food for you...etc wen you call them up to your room. This was a little disappointing as i wanted to cook for myself too.

Buffet breakfast is what you would expect from a decent hotel with an assortment of western and asian foods. They will cook eggs any style on demand and have a chef waiting for your order.

Resturant staff are excellent.

Unfortunaltly the air con in the bed had a very low fan speed and nothing could be done about that. They did try but couldnt fix it - i stopped asking in the end because the lounge air con was fantastic so i left the door open and cooled both rooms.

Bath tub and seperate shower cubicle is nice.

coffee maching with sachets nice too - although i always buy my own coffee anyway :)

WIFI is free - speed is ok but the plug in network is better 60kbs is adequate for most downloads i was doing..

There is construction on one side of the building - i asked to be moved on the first day and the staff did that without any issues.

Beds are soft and you will get a decent nights sleep with the bl;ack out curtains that close all the way.

They have a free Tuk Tuk service to the main road as its a little far otherwise. This did not worry me as taxi to holtel from main road was 35 bht on the return.

Room Tip: Ask for a 1 bed appartment and get the breakfats package
