“Comfortable, good location, nice staff, great value”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

The quality of accommodation here was very good. The rooms are tastefully done and although simple offer everything you want for a well located base in the middle of bangkok. The staff were very helpful. The building looks like an american motel with an inner courtyard. It is not luxury but ideal for those looking for comfort and security at very good prices. The rooms were very clean. I would recommend this to couples as well as younger travellers - we found it very peaceful and quiet inside but very close to the vibrant khao san road!

It is in a good location, but it's really a guesthouse, and surely not a hotel. The airconditioning in the room is good, and the room is clean, but the conditions are very similar to a guest-house. This motel has two floors, in the entrance of it - on the ground I've seen in the evening some rats running back and forward. The bathroom was very simple, and shared with the shower. there's no safe in the room. There's wi-fi only at the Lobby. And, above all, the price Ive paid in advance for 1 room for 2 persons, was high, very high - 990 Bhatt. It was the highest price per room we've paid thoughout our tour to Thailand - about 4 weeks.

Room Tip: If you can do a small research, you'll probably find a better place which is a real hotel...

This is a utilitarian hotel, but that is fine for me. It is down a quiet Soi north of Khao San, and the latter is easily avoidable. The rooms are large, though they lack windows. The a/c is great, the hot water reliable, and the staff welcoming and very helpful. Good restaurants are nearby, and 7/11's abound. There are easy walks or buses to the main sights.

As the title suggests, Rajata hotel is a good option because its close to khao san road but still you can have a peaceful time. There are many good restaurants within minutes of this hotel in this pranakorn village area.

The rooms have tiled floors and high ceilings and most have air con and cable tv. Its the most humid time of the year but I sleep without air con at night because the rooms are cool at night.

If you have a late night flight and want to check out at 8pm they charge you half board. The staff are friendly and there is parking for cars.

They are also ok if you want to bring your thai girlfriend back for a drink to your room.

Room Tip: ask for a room out the back where there is a long courtyard with plants.

For 900baht a night you can get a much better place. The bathroom is old. There was a door leading into another guests room that couldn't be locked properly. Super average. Walk across the road to Nakorn Pink for a cheaper price and better stay.

My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights in feb 2013. We were backpacking through Thailand and wanted somewhere a bit nicer to stay on our first stop. The rooms were spacious, clean and fab air con! Staff were friendly, except for one surly teenage boy who treated us like idiots. Bathrooms and bedrooms are basic but clean and for €10 a night you can't complain.

Two things that really disappointed us was that we speficially chose rajata because it had hot water and wifi. When we arrived we were told the wifi was down for 2/3 days. When we went and asked them the following day if the wifi was working the same woman said it was fine and if it didnt reach our rooms we could use their computers (at a charge) so if wifi in yor room is essential, don't stay here.

We also had no hot water. This was fine if you came back after a day walking the streets as it was so hot but as soon as you turned the air con on jumping in a freezing cold shower is far from appealing! Because of the wfi issue we had already started to look for somewhere new and found a lovely hostel called the 'star dome inn'. Parallel to khoa San road and 300 baht cheaper a night! It had wifi in room, great service and amazing hot showers. Much more basic and no tv but did the trick perfectly!!

Rajata is in a good location, 10 mins from khoa San. But if you want more central look nearer khoa San road.

In recent years this place has had refurbishments to every room, the furniture is solid and clean, the rooms are a generous size, its clean and its location means for Bangkok it is a fairly quite hotel. Breakfast is available but there are plenty of places to eat just a few metres down many of the lovely quite streets.A 10 minute walk and you are in the heart of banglamphu, democracy monument and the national art gallery are a few more minutes away and wat po about 30 minutes walk. The staff are friendly and I'd go to this place before this area gets developed because this is a slice of how Bangkok used to be.

Room Tip: The rooms downstairs are cooler so you may not need to use the aircon as much
