I stayed in this new hotel located at the end of Sathorn Road on 12 - 14 July 2013 to celebrate a close friend's birthday in Bangkok. Upon arrival late at night, I was served with a cool lemon grass infused drink at the Level 12 before I settled comfortably into my METAL element room on Level 15.
The room is big and with the white theme. The only disadvantage is one has to wear the bedroom slippers in the room to avoid yourself in contact with the cold white tiled flooring.
Bathroom is also big but the wash basin is located in such a way that the water flows to the right side of the slanded basin. Water does not flow that well and smooth though. The water pressure was great for the rain shower but the hot water took more than 10 minutes to reach the tap each time I needed to use it. Luckily the issue was addressed on the following day after housekeeping services.
The pool was packed over the weekend with guests and it was a challenge locating an empty deck chair for sunbathing and to place my stuffs before a swim in the pool. The view from the pool is great as you will see the building or rather highrise buildings from the level.
A stay in the hotel would never be ciomplete if you do not visit the Hi So located at the rooftop of the building. We had an early evening drink there drinking under the moon and star before going for the birthday dinner. The view from the rooftop is great with people performing fire play performance and we get to see the city skyline at night along with the Chao Praya river.
Our daily breakfast at the Red Oven was great. There is enough variety of food available for breakfast and I love by salted caramel ice cream on top of my pancake. The breakfast view directly into Lumpini Park is awesome and one just see greeneries during breakfast makes one so fresh in the first thing in the morning.
Upon checking out, I was asked about my stay in the hotel by both the reception at Level 12 and Concierge at Level G. They make you feel welcome each time you step into the hotel.
I will be back but will try out the WATER element room next trip!
