To find this newly opened haven in the centre of Bangkok is quite something. The rooms are tastefully appointed, quiet and with the most comfortable beds. The swimming pool is a real city oasis and very nicely designed. Service is both friendly and attentive on one hand and unobtrusive on the other. The cafe and upmarket Chinese restaurant headed by a top Singapore chef provide delightful cuisine. This was a short business trip but I truly wish it could have been longer. PS if you are looking for a good spa cross the road to the Conrad.

Room Tip: The apartments to the park side probably have the better vista but are also that bit more expensive.

Had a great stay, with the staff going out of their way to help.

One gentleman even came to the airport at midnight on his own accord to ensure that i was ok checking on since I was on crutches.

Be back in the shortest time..!

In may 2012 we stayed for 4 nights in this brand new hotel residence which is located in peaceful wireless road adjacent to US and Netherlands embassies in Bangkok Thailand. The hotel has one and two bedroom apartments for short and long stay. We booked a corner one bedroom which had fantastic views from the all round glass windows. There is a kitchen with full facilities, a sitting room, a bedroom and a huge bathroom. A couple can share big tub plus a large shower. The deco is simple and the best I have seen so far. The service is excellent the staff (beautiful, well dressed and mannered) call you by your name. There is a free shuttle bus to the nearest tram stn and shopping malls.

The best thing about this hotel is its quite location, top notch staff and excellent rooms at very reasonable price. There is a restaurant which we once had excellent dinner.

Note that many taxi and tuk tuk drivers still dont know this hotel you have to tell them near USA embassy!

We highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay in a quiet place - go or it you won't regret!!!
No peddlers just a 7-11 shop just opposite the hotel in case you want to buy something

By the way on one side of the hotel there are still few 2 bedroom apartments for sale.

Room Tip: Go for corner rooms with fantastic n Views

Checked in for one night at Oriental residences.

Although the stay was short, the experience is simply great.

From the time upon stepping into the hotel to check out, service level is impeccable.

One thing worth mentioning.....the bed is simply heavenly!

Definitely be back.

We have stayed in Bangkok many times and we always find the service and standards maintained at most hotels to be consistently high. This hotel, despite being in it's soft opening, took our expectations to the next level. The staff are fantastic - very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are huge and the quality of everything is remarkable. The fit out is flawless and the rooms are serviced to the highest standards. The pool area is equally peaceful considering it is in the middle of the city. Even the breakfast was superb being freshly prepared from an a la carte menu. I can't imagine staying anywhere else and will be back for sure.

I recently spent 9 nights at the ORB and I cannot say enough great things about my experience. I was initially hesitant to book because I knew the hotel was in it's soft opening stages but I decided to give it a try. I only booked for 3 nights but ended up extending to 9. I have stayed at many of the other luxury hotels in Bangkok but this is truly a special place. It all started with the excellent service by the entire staff. I arrived at the hotel after midnight and was immediately taken to my room for an in room check in which literally took less than 5 minutes. I stayed in a deluxe room ( approx 45 sq m) overlooking the US Embassy grounds. The room was perfectly designed and appointed with luxurious linens and products. Beautiful hardwood floors instead of carpeting always a plus for me. The bed was amazing, the bath rooms are terrifice. Although I didn't use the pool the area looked very impressive. The gym is small but more than adequate. Excellent breakfast and dinner at the Cafe Claire Restaurant. The location is great just off busy Sukomvit Rd and close to all the major shopping and restaurants. It's a 5-10 min walk to the BTS (sky train) also the hotel offers complimentary shuttle service. Congrats to Patrick, Lilly and the entire team. If you are looking for Impeccable service, attention to detail, and a more personalized hotel experience then this is THE place. It simply does not get any better than The Oriental Residence Bangkok!!

Room Tip: a room over looking the Embassy grounds is nice.

To begin with, we have travelled to Bangkok on many occasions. This review is based on many stays at the Sukothai (which is a gorgeous, but fading beauty) our normal hotel of choice.

Overall: The location, room detail (we had a one bedroom city view suite) and exceptional staff makes this our favourite 'hotel' in Bangkok. I hasten to say hotel, because it's intimate scale, large rooms and quiet atmoshere make you feel immediately at home. The furnishings are top quality thoroughout.

Arrival: The front staff greeting our car, welcomed us by name and escorted us to a lounge off the lobby for a 'sit down' check in. Polite, efficient and welcome after a day of travelling.

Room: Our suite was approx. 60 square metres featuring a kitchentte, dining, living and separate bedroom/ensuite and balcony overlooking Wireless Road. The kitchenette had a full sized refrigerator/freezer (stocked with wine/beer/juices/ice), coffee/tea, sink, wine/champagne glasses, huge built in robes and a massive bathroom (stocked with Penhaligons and massive white towels). All the furniture was Barbara Barry or Bernhardt (f you don't know who they are, you probably should quite reading this review). Custom made bed (AMAZING), custom sized pillows (HUGE) and absolute white linens (PRESSED) made for the most comfortable nights rest! Silk blackout curtains, full length mirror, laptop sized safe, multiple TVs, in ceiling music, hardwood floors with area rugs, nickle plated fittings, complete electronics, wireless...tick, tick,, tick

FACILITIES: Unfortunately the guest pool was being maintained but we were allowed to use an alternate pool (for full time residents) which was located on the 32nd floor. Stunning views, glass wind protection and a huge outdoor shower made for a wonderful and refreshing dip after a day around Bangkok. The hotel pool/gym are on the 4th floor so the outlook will clearly be different. We used the congiered to confirm restaurant reservations, tailor visits to the hotel and multiple taxis...all with instructions to drivers in Thai with maps on how to get back to the hotel. Lovely. We ate breakfast in Cafe Clare, which is a beautiful French bistro just off the lobby....after eating wonderful Asian food for many meals in a row it was really nice to have fresh croissants and a gruyere and herb omelette...super.

Since this hotel is still in it's 'soft' opening, I recommend you visit now...after May, rates will double (to around $500) so it's worth getting in while the value is extraordinary! Stay here before it gets too popular!

Room Tip: Rooms with a balcony allow you the privacy to sit outside and enjoy the dynmic view point of the cit...
