What can I write about a restaurant that I have visited more than 20 times in Bangkok. Well its still a food stop in Bangkok that deserves a review .
The Ambience is extremely good and I must admit that when compared to the likes of Mrs. Balbirs, Dosa King, Aryas and other India food hotels Saras stands apart.
The variety of food offered is simply too good. South Indian Food, Chinese Food, Gujarati, Rajasthani, Punjabi, Thai - name it and they have it.
Saras has a spread of Thali's to choose from such as a Gujarati Thali, A Rajasthani Thali, a south Indian Thali, and the new entrant a Chinese Thali, I have tried a few of these Thali's and I have always come out feeling fed to much. The Thali's are generally good.
Chinese and Thai (pappya salad in particular) are equally good.
South Indian food is good and so are Gujarati and Rajasthani,
If there is one food that is a avoid here then it is the Punjabi food.
The one let down overall with the food here is the amount of oil that is used - which is generally very high.
The Punjabi food in particular comes flooded with oil making it almost impossible to eat it.
The price is generally on the higher side when compared to the other food spots of the similar format.
What is good
1. Spread and variety of food
3. Gujarati food
What is not so good
1. Price - slightly over priced
2. Usage of oil - needs to be reduced
