I stay at this Novotel at least 3 times a year, as it is very convenient to the business I need to do here. The hotel is great but I have said it before and I'll keep saying it until something is done about it.  The egg station at the breakfast buffet is in the most ridiculous position.
It is smack bang in the middle of all the food selections, so you have a queue  that forms right in front of the other food on offer. So if you simply want a sausage you have to squeeze through the people in the queue to get to it. Then try doing this whilst holding a plate, lifting the hot plate lid and not trying to elbow your fellow guests. It is an issue that needs to be fixed ASAP. They also need 2 chefs doing eggs on busy mornings, sometimes there are easily 6-7 people in front of you, so you stand there for at least 10-15 mins simply waiting for scrambled eggs.
I saw a review mentioning this 2 months ago and the manager said they are fixing the problem, but it is still not resolved.
They also need to get rid of the massive advertising stickers that cover majority of the rooms windows. You know those annoying see through stickers that when you look out the window it makes your eyes go all confused with the black dots.
Apart from these issues it is  great hotel, especially the Concierge staff who are super friendly.

Dear Davsyd,

Warm greetings and thank you having chosen Novotel Platinum Hotel as the hotel of choice for several stays and for taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback.

All our team members aspire to make your stay a truly pleasurable and worthwhile experience. We are pleased to learn that you enjoyed the location of the hotel.

After the first comments about our egg station a few month ago, our team prepared scrambled eggs and fried eggs in separate chafing dishes to ensure those items are available immediately. The sausage and bacon were placed at a different location, so that our guests would not crowd at one location. Finally we added a second egg chef to manage peak demand times.

Following your comments, at the beginning of this week we have already changed the location of the egg station. We believe this will improve the service to our guest and reduce bottleneck’s around the buffet. We will monitor this over the coming months to ensure this location helps us deliver a better service.

I am confident that for your upcoming stay we will be able to meet and hopefully even exceed your expectations.

Please contact me on your next trip, as I would like to get your feedback from our new egg station.

We are looking forward to welcome you back in the near future.

with my warmest personal regards,

Sascha Kunze

We had the most memorable holiday in Bangkok thanks to the fabulous hospitality of Novotel Platinum. We stayed for 4 nights/5 days at Novotel Platinum. Upon our arrival at the Hotel reception, we were immediately escorted to the Premium Lounge on the 24th floor for completing the check-in formalities. Being a member of the accor group we were upgraded to the executive floor and given a royal treatment at the Premium Lounge by offering the most scrumptious appetizers.

We were then escorted to our room on the same floor. The room was spacious and so was the bathroom which was well equipped with the best toiletries and clean towels and bathrobes. The staff of Novotel Platinum is extremely warm and courteous to all the guest at the Hotel. I think Novotel Platinum has the best staff across all the Hotels in Bangkok. I can say this as I have earlier stayed at few other hotels in Bangkok.

The breakfast spread was large and impressive. We also ordered food for lunch and dinner which was great in taste and value for money. The Hotel also has a fab concierge desk and helped us book cars on two occasions. They also have free-internet facility at the web corner located on the 6th and 24th floor of the Hotel.

Also as for the location of the Hotel, Novotel Platinum is centrally located in the main shopping district of Bangkok.

I will definitely stay at Novotel Platinum during my next visit to Bangkok.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the higher floors for the best view.

This establishment is new and very popular at this time. The location is excellent. The property is connected to the Platinum Fashion Mall. Close by are many Eateries, Shopping Malls, Shopping Stalls and Convenience Shopping venues. The reception seemed somewhat crowded on our arrival, but as time went by it became more peaceful.
We had a standard room, which was great. The next time we will try an executive suite. The breakfast had a fair variety and was great. Try and go to breakfast early as it becomes crowded after 8 am. You then have to wait in line for sitting spaces to open up.

For improvement I would recommend a better system of attending to people seeking assistance at reception.

We will visit this property again.

I stayed here for 5 nights during my stay in Bangkok and it's probably the best Accor hotel that I have stayed in.

Upon check-in, we were offered a "welcome drink" which was a nice touch, especially after walking from the Siam Station with our luggage in 35 degrees weather! The staff is friendly and always smiling, from the front receptionists right down to the cleaning staff...no matter who we came across, they always greeted us with a smile.

As for the room itself, it was very spacious with plush carpets and a huge bathroom. Lots of counter space and the toileries provided were replaced daily. Excellent housekeeping. There were two bathrobes provided, a safe which can accomodate a laptop as well as a kettle, tea and coffee maker, etc. TV had lots of different channels to choose from. Beds were very, very comfy. I stayed on the top floor (25th) with a view of the nearby malls. Free wi-fi is offered everywhere in the hotel. AC worked great, this is especially important as the outside temperature was over 35 degrees every day!

As for the location- it is a 5 mins walk to Central World which is a huge mall with the 7th (top) floor consisting of numerous restuarants, supermarket and a theatre. A further 5 min walk on the "Skywalk" will bring you to Siam BTS station and from here you can take the train to other parts of the city. It's also next to the Siam Paragon mall which is an upscale mall with all the designer brands. The bottom floor has a huge supermarket, food court and tons of restaurants while the top floor has the movie theatres (watched Skyfall on Imax - amazing!). There are other malls nearby as well but I found these two are the best ones. As for the Fashion Mall next door, I went there only once. It just didn't appeal to me.

As for the hotel restaurant they have a special on now until Dec 31st, 2012 - 2 for 1 lunch special Mon-Sat and 2 for 1 brunch on Sun. I went during the week and paid 799 Bahts plus service charge/tax for two people which is really good value. There were lots of varieties to eat, my favorite part was the dessert! So many to choose from...

The only fault I could find with my stay was that right outside the Central World mall, there were live music every night and you can hear everything through the walls so it was very noisy. Ear plugs came in handy....this is only a minor complaint.

I would stay in again in a heartbeat, no doubt about it!

If you're in Bangkok for the shopping especially for shopping at Platinum Mall, you can't stay in a better place. The first 5 floors of this building comprise of Zone3 of Platinum Mall, the rest is the hotel. Zone1 and Zone2 occupy the adjoining building

Having said that, it's a very good hotel otherwise too. Clean rooms, new-age interiors and polite staff. The only drawbacks, if one can call them that, are the fact that the bathrooms do not have any locks - none at all, so if you're traveling with anyone other than spouse or partner, it can presumably get awkward. Also, there is only one restaurant - the Square - in the hotel which serves as its all purpose eating place. The food is nothing to write home about but then, i guess, the choice to stay here definitely wouldn't be influenced by the quality of the food.

Another thing, surprisingly the staff does not seem to have any idea of the taxi fares, although they are very helpful. We wanted to visit the Wat-Po temple and were told that the metered taxi would cost anywhere between 300 to 400THB. This seemed very excessive to me since it did not seem to be too far away (Google maps). Anyway, it cost us all of 97THB, even after encountering crazy traffic even by Bangkok standards (there was some demonstration that day in the area).

But - stay here - shop away - take breaks to throw your bags in your rooms and shop some more.
