Made a serious mistake of accepting a friend’s invitation for a Saturday lunch at the all-day dining venue.
To begin with, the location is so inconvenient for someone who is driving. Having being stuck in the traffic and running terribly late, I arrived at the hotel only to be told that the car park is full and that I have to park next door in a Mall. More time lost and more frustrations but finally managed to go up several floors and got a car park. The elevators to the ground floor of the building are so crowded with wholesale shoppers with heaps of items and it takes forever to get a lift. When I got to the ground floor I had to make my way through a much crowed mall selling cheap clothes and inundated with hundreds of bargain hunters. Because of the very tight walkways full with merchandize I felt very insecure, especially after a few fires that occurred in the city in the recent times.
Having made it to the hotel, I arrived at the Square Restaurant and got the shock of my life when I saw the set up for a band in the middle of the restaurant, at Lunch time, with Keyboard, drums and all. And here, I was going to have a quite lunch with a friend whom I had seen for a while!
We asked to be moved as far as possible from the band but still when the band returned after a break, it was like one of the coffee shops from the 80’s. The music was loud and bad to say the least and any conversation was impossible! I really don’t understand hotels that pay good money to upset their customers by making awful decisions like this. The venue itself was good and people go to eat on a Saturday afternoon. Not to get their ears blasted by frustrated musicians. Very seriously, it looked so old fashioned and outdated.
I asked for the A La Carte menu as I did not want the buffet. This became a drama as the staff immediately took away my water glass which was already filled. The reason, “Free water is only for people who partake the buffet”. I had to finally speak to some sort of a manager to explain that I did not take all this trouble and come to this place to have a free glass of water and that I am prepared to pay for whatever I consume. Once again, poor policies and training and I must mention that the staff was untrained and clueless and each time we asked for something someone else was called for translation and this was very frustrating.
On the way out we saw crowds of people lying down on the seats and sofas or whatever that they could get in the lobby and realized that this was a haven for shoppers who come for cheap bargains in the nearby malls. Certainly not for business or upmarket dining.

Just came back from Bkk w my wife and close relative(3 couples). We stay on 17th, 20th and 21st floor. The rooms are with different desgin, the one at the 17th has a open concept bath room with see thru glass wall.

The hotel is great, although room is small as compared to Pathuwan Princess but comparable to Grand Centra with 50% the price.

The Bfast was ok but the setting of the place is with a class....but the coffee taste kind of funny.

The front desk was very slow in checking in and out which took around 20 mins. The bell boy also took 40min to sent up our bags which is consider way below standard service level. And you can never get thru to the bell captain when checking out, ended we have to carry our bags (5 in total after 3 days of shopping) by ourself to the lobby.

Never get a chance to visit the pool cause it was kind of rush due to the short trips.

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to buy a "buyone get one" buffet lunch coupon at the Queen Sririkit. Upon my entry into "the square" I handed 2 coupons to the staff. The staff were friendly and willing to serve you as usual. I was particularly impressed with selections of cold cuts, quality was good.

I called for the bill as usual having in mind that I handed two paid free coupons up front, expecting the staff to let me know that they have received coupons and I am free to leave. In fact, I had to wait for 20 mins for them to double check that coupons have been received.

I wish the staff could be more responsible next time when this case happens next.

My girlfriend and I just came back from a 2 week holiday in Thailand. We spent our nights in bangkok here. The service was top notch and the rooms were spectacular. After reading reviews before leaving, we were expecting "teething" problems, but we were plesantly suprised that there wasn't any. Dinner was wonderful to boot.
I would and have recomended this hotel to everyone I know. It was far better than the "5* resort and over water villa's" we stayed at in samui"

Room Tip: They are all good, but same same... higher up the building you go, the better the view
