“Great hotel , a little hard to get to.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2014

We stayed for 2 nights and loved the hotel. Unfortunately we came on Friday evening and the traffic was horrendous so took us an hour to travel 500 metres. Having booked an executive room we then missed the free food and drinks. We did have dinner in the Glasshouse restaurant which was really excellent , food and staff were brilliant and would recommend. A little pricey but we managed to get 50% discount due to arriving so late , so even though we had all we wanted they gave us the discount , good stuff. The pool area looks over the river and view of Lebua State Tower. In the daytime the pool gets quite busy but had to be the coldest pool I have experienced in Bangkok. Great for lane swimming but we stayed in for about 2 mins just to cool off.
Great to have Surasak BTS attached to the hotel which made a trip to Chatachak market very easy and took about 30mins door to door. Great hotel and great lounge.

Room Tip: Do not get a taxi here during rush hour.

Me and my wife arrived for the start of our honeymoon in Bangkok on the 22nd July for 2 nights. We got the hotel Airport pickup service which made getting from the Airport after a long journey easy and pain free. On arrival at the Grand Eastin we were really impressed, it got even better when we were given a free upgrade to the 30th floor. The room had a spectacular view over Bangkok with the Sky Bar in full view. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choice on offer and the service was excellent; my coffee cup was never empty.

All the staff were very helpful and they even sorted out a private tour of Bangkok for us, this was brilliant and would highly recommend it. Jo who took us around was so good and taught us a lot. We went to Calipso a Ladyboy show which Jo took us to. It was rubbish but so funny it made it really good; well worth a visit.

The Grand Eastin is opposite the sky bar and a 5 minute walk to the river taxi which makes getting around Bangkok easy. The sky train is good, with a stop just off the 3rd floor. If you get off at the National Stadium you can walk down the road to the Golden Mount and other spectacular sites like the Grand Palace. The infinity pool is amazing, overlooking the city and again the staff and food is brilliant.

Staying in Bangkok? Stay here.

Hotel is amazing defiantly a proper 5* hotel breakfast was amazing, views great with the infinity pool at the top which was a bonus. We booked the vip room and had access to the top restaurant that is also a great experience highly recommend. The restaurant where the infinity pool is there is a restaurant there the food is very highly rated in my books i went for the international cuisine and i had probably one the the best pizzas i've ever had in my lifetime. Overall you can't go wrong!

We had a fab 4 night stay here. We decided to upgrade to an executive room to have cocktails and canapés every evening- we made the most of this lets say!! Infinity pool was great with lovely views. Access to BTS Skytrain was great -very handy and easy to use! Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options including great Asian options. Slight negative is the lack of any local street food / reasonably priced restaurants nearby although taxis are so cheap to get you around e.g to Chinatown (always insist that they put the meter on!)

Reasonable price for a lovely hotel!!

Room Tip: Go for a superior sky room

The infinity pool overlooking Bangkok is incredible and is worth the price of admission by itself.
While food & drinks are a little pricey, it’s still cheaper than average Australian prices and pretty standard for a 5 star hotel. The rooms are very clean, modern and new. We booked a standard room, it was very spacious and the bed was huge and comfy. The real bonus was that the full buffet breakfast was included in our booking (which wasn’t made explicitly clear) so it was a nice surprise. I would recommend you double check that it’s included in your booking as the breakfast was divine and jam packed full of every cuisine option you can imagine. The hotel is connected to the sky rail so it’s super easy to get around the city. I would highly recommend staying here if you want 5 star accommodation without a huge price tag! The only fault I could find with the hotel was that the drain in the bathroom sink was really stinky!!! Other than that, it’s a fantastic hotel and I’d visit again just to lay by that incredible infinity pool!

The location of the hotel is one of its strongest points. Indeed, it benefits from a direct access to the sky train. When you want to get around in Bangkok the sky train is a must! Taxis are cheap, but traffic is terrible.

The hotel is quite classic when it come so decoration (nice, but no surprises) and very comfortable.
The pool is small, but good. The outdoor area around the pool is well made and the lighting there in the evening creates a good ambiance. We only tried one small meal in the pool area and that was unfortunately a disappointment. Much too salt in the food. We informed the staff, but our communication did not have any consequence.

The breakfast is big, but of medium quality. Although I love dim-sum myself, I found the buffet to be a little too much dominated by Chinese breakfast options. It lacked healthy, fresh options in my point of view.

The reception staff was a bit cold. Everything was about money, no "I hope you will enjoy your stay with us" or "How was your stay?". Smiles were also surprisingly scarce. It is so simple to put the guest's experience in the center instead of the financial transaction, but they failed at this.

The concierge was friendly, but not efficient. He tried to push some tailor's brochure on us when we asked for directions to a specific Jim Thompson's outlet where we wanted to buy fabric for some furniture. We showed that we were 100 percent determined about where we wanted to go (this was my 6th time in Bangkok), we did not ask for tips, but he still pushed the tailor's brochure. I found this very unprofessional.

Last month I stayed at Eastin Grand Hotel for 2 nights, an amazing place! Good location, beautiful rooms and nice swimming pool. All staff is very friendly and gives you a lot of information. We also made a reservation for a city tour at the tour counter and had a great day! I would like to recommend this place to everyone.
