“Awesome value AND location!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2014 via mobile

I have rated this as excellent for 3 reasons:
1. Value for money: I paid £63 with breakfast for each night we were there.
2. Central location for exploring.
3. This hotel has direct access via a footbridge to the BTS skytrain. Only a few hotels have this I believe.

Would very happily recommend and I can see why this one rates so highly.
Don't miss the bar and infinity pool which is stunning, especially in the evening.
A few people mentioned in their reviews about having to wait a while for a lift??.....we found no such problem.

Breakfast at this hotel is pretty nice. Very nice spread with loads of options, a few live stations. Staff is great, service very attentive, food is good and very good value. They have muesli, live asian noodle station, live omelette station, both which are a must in good hotels, variety of fresh juices. The atmosphere at the restaurant is pretty nice, big windows and service staff is constantly coming to check on you to clear any empty plates and so on. Would definitely come back here again for breakfast!

We stayed at the Eastin in February of 2014 for 4 nights and it was an amazing hotel. We had a 28th floor room with a spectacular view. It was beautiful, clean and the people were extremely nice!

Good:
1. Very clean, modern, comfortable and we got the room we requested.
2. Breakfast is very good and you get a variety of eggs, fruit, traditional soups, cereal, etc.
3. We ordered room service one night, the food came very fast, it was delicious and they even called us to double check that we got it and if were pleased with the quality and service.
4. The infinity pool on the 14th floor and entire pool area are stunning! We fell in love with it and wished we could take it all home.
5. The hotel has its own bridge straight to the BTS Skytrain (Surasak) station, which is extremely convenient. TIP: When 2 BTS lines intersect at the same station, we noticed the platforms for the same line, but different directions are one above the other, not on the same platform, across from each other. I believe it was 130 baht/person for a 1 day pass.
6. You can order a taxi and in minutes, one will be there for you. The hotel staff gives you a slip to tell the driver where to take you but also for you to keep in case you forget something in the cab.
7. It cost approx. 450 baht from the airport to get to the hotel (that’s about $16 CAD).
TIP 1: Go outside at the airport and look for the taxi stand, the taxis are yellow and green and will charge you according to the meter. There are also airport limos that will take you there for 1600 baht ($57). We originally wanted to take the Airport Sky link, but it cost almost as much as the taxi and we would have had to wait another half an hour or so until it arrived.
TIP 2: Have cash baht with you. There are 2 tolls you have to pay on your way from the airport to the hotel, aside from the taxi fare, one is 25 baht, and the other is 50 baht.

Not ideal:
1. The hotel is a bit far from some of the main downtown attractions. It doesn't cost a lot to get there (about 250-300 baht) but don’t expect to get anywhere with a taxi during rush hour times.

Definitely recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: We chose to pay a little extra for a high room and got the 28th floor. It was great!

I booked this hotel after seeing how highly it's been rated on trip advisor and with the added benefit of a sky train terminal connected to the hotel.

Knowing this is the quickest way around the Bangkok I thought this was a massive plus, 1 stop you can be at the riverside and take a taxi boat to the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Asiatique wherever you like. 4 stops the other direction and your at Siam, change lines maybe go to Mo Chit for the weekend Market it's so easy nana even connect again and go straight to the airport avoiding any traffic.

I booked through the hotels through there own website and got 3 x day passes for the sky train included in the price.

The hotel itself is immaculate and what you would expect from a 5 Star Hotel, we were on the 28th floor and had great views of the river and the sunset over the city on an evening was a sight to see. We used the pool a couples of times to wind down from the madness 14 storey's below. The pool is amazing and the sofas you can just relax and unwind from the sight seeing or shopping you could even spend the day there if you so wish.

I would say the only negative I have is that being a 5 star hotel, maybe on arrival would have expected a welcome drink or at least a cold towel they must of seen we had come some way, instead we were just checked in and shown are room.

Great hotel, for sure one of best 15 hotels in Bangkok. Very clean, well maintained with great outdoor pool and restaurant area (Italian one). Rooms located at higher floors offer amazing views of the city. Hotel is connected to BTS with its own flying bridge and it is just one station away from Chao Praya River which makes it perfectly located for city exploring. The only thing I could complain about is that elevators are too slow and sometimes it takes long time to get down to the reception area or to the room. Will stay there again when visiting Bangkok.

Good hotel, very slow check in but with very helpful staff, clean room, we had a Sky room it was smaller than what I was expecting but was furnished nicely. They have a good breakfast selection but felt a bit cramped in the seating. We had dinner in the Italian restaurants very nice service and meal at a reasonable price, good access to the Sky Rail, but not much around the hotel so needed to use it.
We had paid for a two night stay so we could use the room up until we had to leave for the airport at 6pm on the second night, they then tried to charge us for a late check out, on advising the gentleman that we were leaving 18 hours earlier than we had to he apologised and then we had to remind him that we had to pay for the dinner, maybe the front desk staff could do with some more training.

Room Tip: We paid extra for a sky room, but I think all you get extra is a room on a higher floor level.

Eastin Grand is a great hotel. The room was super comfortable, plenty hot water, room has wifi, safe, kettle and fridge. The pool is amazing and breakfast just to die for. As its in the business district its not as accessible as some but 1 train stop to the river to get to places like the Grand Palace etc is ok - 15 baht by train and 15 baht by local boat (40 by the tourist boat) and it's easy access by train everywhere else. There's a great convenience store close by so "Beer o'clock" is never far away

Room Tip: Higher rooms are better as the hotel is at the junction of very busy roads so you have road noise.
