“Great hotel with few flaws”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

I booked this hotel due to its reviews and also the price (paid approx. $110 including breakfast). Not knowing very much about Bangkok when I booked it I have to say I was very happy with the location and logistics. It is right next to (even has its private passageway) to the monorail which effortlessly takes you to many of the main areas in the city.

The room was a standard room and I was given a room on a high floor (26th) facing the river. The room was beautiful with all the amenities one would ask for. Everything top notch. Minibar was well stacked and the prices were good.

The service in the hotel was also first-rate. Everyone were helpful and smiling. Check-in/out went quickly and getting taxis etc. was easy and straight forward.

The pool area was not big, but very comfortable with an infinity pool, bar/restaurant and a nice view from the 14th floor.

Breakfast was plentiful and very well organized. I did not try the other restaurants in the hotel.

All in all a great stay and a hotel I would certainly consider again if going back to Bangkok.

This spanking new hotel is fabulous. Rooms are reasonably good size for city-hotel and come with all the little extras. Location worked for us. Right next to the Blue Elephant Restaurant (where we had dinner reservation). Connected to the sky train so easy to get about. Breakfast was delicious. Best bit was the 14th floor inifinity pool, with comfy pods and trendy bar. Most staff were brilliant, one or two need a few more days at charm school. Would definitely stay again - excellent value for money.

Room Tip: I image most rooms to be good but go high for a brilliant city view.

Amazing breakfast served until 11am,handy if you've had a long flight the night before. Spacious clean rooms with bathrobes, slippers, hair dryer, all toiletries, English tv channels. Lovely pool bar with surprisingly reasonably priced drinks. We loved sitting here looking out at the city at night in the comfiest sun loungers in the world...Great location, the hotel has a bridge to the sky train, very handy when you don't know where you're going! Couldn't believe it was only £60 a night for a double. Cannot recommend enough, book it now!

Nice hotel with friendly helpful staff however the link to the skytrain proved to be a very useful asset making it easy & conveniant to get around the city.Great idea. The pool was very nice, very popular however, great layout & furnishings. The club level,,was ,not as nice as some other chains & hotels I have stayed at.The attendants pouring your wine ( not a help yourself) & recording it.Clean well kept room & very helpful lady keeping our floor tidy, bringing the ironing board & iron twice when needed. Was expecting to see one in the cupboard though.

I can not praise this hotel enough. The actual accommodation is fantastic. The Staff very helpful. The facilities Great. The location is excellant as you can access the Sky Train from the hotel and depending on your package you even get Sky Train Tickets. Our package included breakfast which was out of this world. There was just nothing you could have wished for that was not on the Buffet. We also had one dinner at the hotel which was also a buffet style and was mind blowing. There was dishes from every part of the world and sweets to die for. there is also a very good sitting area and bar in Reception with the added bonus of internet access besides the WiFi in the rooms.
This is a 5 star hotel at 3 star prices.

Room Tip: I can not imagine that this hotel has any bad rooms.

The Eastin Grand is exemplary in every regard; service, location, comfort and amenities.

It offers a modern and luxurious setting in the middle of the bustling centre of Bangkok. Once you step into the hotel, it is a world of its own. The staff are fantastic, always attempting to provide assistance and service in a friendly and courteous manner, without being overbearing. Certainly a stark contrast to many others in Bangkok.

The facilities and comfort are extraordinary for the relatively moderate price. We stayed in a Superior Room, which met all our expectations. Comfortable, modern and cosy.

The 'Infinity Pool' is an exquisite setting to relax, even if the views are of a polluted and bustling metropolis. As another reviewer commented, the gym is also one of the best I've seen in a hotel.

The location of the hotel is probably one of its most valuable assets. There is a connecting overpass from Level 3 of the hotel to the Surasak Station of the BTS Skytrain. It makes travelling around the main parts of the city seamless. If there is somewhere a little more obscure you wish to go, the staff will provide assistance and procure a taxi (ensuring it's metered); with a courteous and friendly smile as always.

The breakfast provides a great variety of food so each day can be different according to your tastes. Furthermore, the hotel has a Chinese Restaurant and a more simple restaurant on the pool level which each provide decent food. Free bottled water is provided by staff to your room each day. In fact, we ended up getting three bottles each morning (usually two) without prompting given the amount we were consuming.

The hotel is cleanly kept, and the maid staff do an excellent job.

Overall, if you are looking for a world away from Bangkok in the middle of the city, you can't go past the Eastin Grand. Exemplary across the board.
