Stayed in the Eastin Grand Sathorn from Sunday 21st to Friday 26th Oct and had an amazing time. Booked a superior sky room on the executive floor and enjoyed complimentary drinks and cocktails each evening in addition to soft drinks throughout the day. The package also included free day passes for the BTS system and as the hotel is adjacent and directly linked to Sathorn station by way of a walkway, it couldn't have been easier to get around Bangkok.
The staff were superb - very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the Manager Patrick Manthe who took time to chat with us one evening.
We liked the hotel so much that we have booked 2 more nights there next week before flying home.
I hIghly recommend this hotel and will use it again should I have the opportunity to visit BKK.

Room Tip: Look for the saver packages on their website - the superior sky room we had was approx €100 per nigh...

We have stayed in many good hotels in the last 6 weeks of travelling around south-east Asia, this hotel has been the best so far - really outstanding! Good rooms, all new and clean, beautiful bathroom with lovely fluffy towels, very comfortable bed and the most stunning unrivalled views of Bangkok. The location is perfect, right on the Skytrain so you can access everything within just a few minutes. The breakfast buffet was out of this world, everything and anything was available and really well presented, fresh, good quality food.
The service at the hotel is superb, from check-in to check-out they were all so kind, helpful and genuine!
We'd love to come back here, if you are looking for somewhere as a base to explore Bangkok or for a lay over to get some sleep I strongly recommend this hotel as the best in South-East Asia!!

Room Tip: 26th floor was great!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Eastin (18 Oct - 21 Oct 2012) and wouldn't
mind returning.

Pros:

- sheltered link to BTS (with free daily unlimited BTS passes a good
throw-in)

- clean and spacious

- love that the room (2619) has 3! power plugs, which is enough for
3 of us. Although my friend said 2 of the plugs next to the desk were not
working, it didn’t seem to affect them so we didn’t report the problem.
Absolutely hate hotels who think that one power plug is sufficient for 2
people, with all the gadgets one has nowadays

- another thumbs-up: Honest housekeeping staff. My friend left an
envelope with money on the side table; it was still there when we returned
later in the day. Maybe in another lesser hotel it would have been gone.
I also noticed that the housekeeping does not touch personal stuff left
lying around, which is good

- friendly Concierge (which is rather a given at 5-star hotels)

Cons:

- no other shops around the hotel (except for 7-11 across the road).
This makes it inconvenient to pop out late at night for supper, because
there isn’t any food in the immediate vicinity (not counting Blue Elephant
which I heard is expensive). I would have given Eastin 5 stars rating except for this inconvenience factor

- breakfast variety was acceptable though it gets boring from 2nd
day onwards. Only minor changes were made to the variety from day to day
i.e. they changed type of pasta and type of noodle, the rest all the same.
Breakfast menu should have more variety from day to day

- limited TV channels. Ok, this is a minor, minor point but just to state
anyway. Most people don't stay in the room to watch TV, but I have a habit
of channel surfing after a long day outside, and I was quite bored browsing
the channels they have (around 24 channels or so). Compared to another similar-
range hotel in Bangkok I've been at with more than 50 channels, well, I
wish Eastin has more channels.

Me and my wife had a 4 nights stay at the executive room. The first time I did my cheking in sitting down and seeping a glass of refreshing juice. The staff were super friendly and the hotel is very new with good size room. No worries about the Bangkok traffic jam, the hotel will give you a daily BTS ticket travelling to almost all the happening places. We did a lot of walking these 5 days without our car and is a good exercise for us. After a tiring day we can re-energize with a cocktail drink at the executive lounge in the evening, finger food threw in too! Great Hotel, super friendly staff and no worries getting around.

Room Tip: Executive room is recommended if you want yourself to be pampered

This hotel was one of the highlights of our visit to Bangkok. As the surrounding area consists of a great deal of traffic the hotel is peace beyond recognition.well placed for the skytrain, the hotel offers transport that keeps you away from that road.
Our room on the 25th floor was excellent and the view.!
Try the 14th floor infinity pool, again a lovely distraction from the mayhem below.

Room Tip: Get a room at the highest point possible. Great view. Room service was also good and affordable

Eastin Grand is a fantastic hotel for some rest and relaxation in Bangkok. We stayed for 3 nights to treat ourselves at the start of a 6 month travelling adventure around south east Asia and it was such a perfect start. The staff are all very friendly and the conciegre was extremely helpful with booking taxis and giving is directions. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice for all.

The pool was probably the best part about the hotel. It was always a good temperature, never too busy and constantly kept very well maintained by the staff working there. We spent more time by the pool than sight seeing in Bangkok!

As the hotel is new, we got a very good price in comparison to the other five star hotel in Bangkok, which made the stay even better!

Only thing that could be a minor complaint is that I'm the room we stayed in, there was no bath, only a shower.

Luxury hotel!
You just have to get to the 14th floor and see the pool that overlooks the city
The breakfast is really the best and I did visit some other hotels in Bangkok( ascot, grande centre point,..)
The room is ok, nothing special but convenient and clean.
And one more bonus especially for this city- the hotel is connected directly to a sky train( 3rd floor in the hotel) very VERY convenient to get around
next time in BKK this will be my first choice
