We are checking out of Viva Garden today and I must say that I have really enjoyed staying here.
We have had a 1 bed apartment and it is really big a spacious. Hughe walk in wardrobe, separate shower and bath, big king size bed (although mattress is like a rock but pillows are lovely), huge balcony.
The whole place is extremely clean, bright and new and one of the best I have seen the whole tone we have been in Bangkok!
The reason I think that this place is do cheap for the standard of accommodation is because it is quite far out of the centre of Bangkok. In rush hour, on the skyline, to get to the centre you are looking at around 30mins sometimes a bit less, but if you had this place in central it would cost twice the price. If you get a metres taxi it is around 80baht but late a night it can be quite hard to get a can to take you at all and if they do it is hard to get them to put it in the metre.
The only other problem is that they do not do food past 2pm... However after 6pm there is a little sports bar around a 1 min walk that does some of the best food I have had in Bangkok and its open to 1.30am... You just need to turn left out if the front of the building, walk around 30 secs up the road, cross over and it's there, doesn't look much but is really nice and staff mainly understand English! Recommend the chicken with cashew! Yum yum!
Also in the website it recommends you leave the skyline to get up the hotel via exit 2, however if you are arriving at night like we did it is very unclear how to get to the hotel. Much better to walk down to exit 5 and leave via the left hand exit, get to the bottom of the stairs and continue to walk straight and it's right in front of you on the left... Also just to add the general area is a bit run down and there isn't that much to do on your doorstep but take the skyline a few stops into town and there is plenty!
Also if you are looking for massages, straight opposite the apartments there is a little place that is nice and really cheap... 100baht an hour for Thai, 250baht for oil!
Swimming pool area is nice as well as the gym.
Would 100% recommend this place to anyone... Staff are also really nice, friendly and helpful x
