“LOVE CAFE G!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 9, 2012

The location is right below the CHITLOM sky train on the street level of HOLIDAY INN HOTEL. We have been here before in March 2011. This time we were there for lunch on a Saturday. The price for lunch and dinner buffet now is Bhat 317 nett or appox US$11. Let me tell you, this price for a lunch or dinner buffet in Bangkok or anywhere else in the world is GREAT! The restaurant is big, clean and very nice. The food is wonderful with enough variety to make you over eat!! We like the idea of tea and coffee also included in the price. The staff are very good and they keep on replenishing the food. It is not crowded and the layout is such that there is no pushing or too much lining up. I would like to mention the excellent communication that was provided by Pranom Sakulpiyachai who is the Food and Beverage Co-ordinator of the Holiday inn. I had requested to know the price list of the Buffet at Cafe G and she was very prompt at answering my questions. I would like to say..Thank you for your kind and prompt emails.
If you have the time then do go and enjoy the buffet at Cafe G. It is a perfect place for a nice lunch on a hot and sunny afternoon in Bangkok. The price is the same Monday to Sunday!

“Good service, great coffee and a good breakfast buffet spread”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 4, 2012

We had breakfast at Cafe G every day for four days, since we were on a inclusive package and it was sumptous, with a variety of choice. Fresh fruits are Thailand's forte and you have plenty of those, besides quite a few live counters - eggs to order/ pasta station/ noodle station/ pancakes and waffles, etc.
The service is exceptionally good, with staff remembering your tea/coffee orders for each member of your family, after the first day. They are alert and dirty plates/bowls get removed as soon as you finish, just as they replenish quickly any food items that get finished at the counters.

But i must say that though there's variety that impresses you the very first day that you have your breakfast, but if one is to have breakfast for few days here, the items on the counter seem a bit repetitive - even the flavors of the Danish or the muffins were same for all four days! A little variation by the chef in this front will be welcoming.
Nevertheless, its a good place to start your day here.

“Cafe G is the best kept secret in Bangkok and the best value to be found................”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Sharing locations with the five star Intercontinental Hotel.Cafe G can be found at street level inside The Holiday Inn Bangkok, both sites were formally the President Hotel and Towers until it was rebranded some years ago.Either enter from the main lobby area or the street entrance to be met with a friendly greeting by their staff.Reservations for dinner are a must as after some initial failures and some revamping of the menus, management cater to a full house every day both for lunch, popular with the business crowd mostly working closeby or for dinner.Tables for four and more and an option of a degree of privacy with six booths with bench chairs and room for six.Numerous stations cater for the freshest salads, make your own or try the very popular Thai spicy salads including mango and papaya and various ground meats.A carvery section and numerous speciality Thai curries change as the week progresses,a section dedicated to Chinese noodles and soups with meat and fish and a seperate Italian station where any amount of varied pastas are cooked to order, compliment this with fresh fruits, cakes and pastries, unlimited soft drinks and coffee or tea by request. All this is offered in a spotlessly clean environment, the service is impeccable and all for around US $10.00 per person. The popularity and catering to a full capacity each day,the management have been able to set the price without any increases for some time and without a doubt it is the best kept secret in Bangkok.

“True value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2012

I have lunch here 3-4 times. When comparing to price, it is value for money as it offers you variety of food. There are noodle station, pasta station, 4-5 Thai foods, chicken, 3-4 western foods, thai salad station, salad corners , cake corners, dessert, soft drinks fountain. It also served you coffee or tea at the end. It is only 295B net which it is the same price if u order a lunch set but limited only 1 food with 1 soup and salad but no dessert and drink. Thus it is value to try.
