Sam's Fish & Chips sits on top of Sam's house (ie. his private residence) off of Convent Rd. When you find his house, you enter the front garden and climb the spiraling stairs to the rooftop. There you find a cozy little restaurant that feels more like a backyard BBQ, with live music, surrounded by the skyscrapers of Silom. The menu consists primarily of fish and chips. I chose the cod, which cost around 160 B. It was basic but good. He has some cheaper, local fish available too. Sam, a very friendly Thai guy who grew up in America and England, came over and introduced himself, and gave us a complimentary whiskey before we left. Definitely give it a try when you want to try something different in Silom.
