I have been to this bar twice now and I really like it. Same owner as Fat Ghutz saloon and both are great. Live band playing great music and nice cocktails and drinks. Be prepared to be squashed though, this bar is very very cozy.

Thonglor is a really good street to hangout. Iron Fairies is crowded most of the time. So be prepared to stand initially and look out for seats as the patrons leave during the break. Nice fish and chips as well as in-house concoction. I am really taken in by the decorations. The singers are great as well. A good location to hang out with friends.

I first read about this place on the CNN website - it promised me hamburgers of gourmet quality and "quirkiness". They had me...this, I had to try. It was a mission to find, we drove past a couple of times, but in the end saw the low lit doorway of a 50's Brooklyn speakeasy. We eased in through the black curtain and entered into the most magical of spaces. A dining room, yes - but a dining room like no other. Low lighting, old wood tables, fanciful decorations and staff greeting us like old friends.

We were swiftly seated and menus and drinks lists were delivered with an introduction to a little box of monkey-nuts. The menu is simple, short and to the point - the drinks list is big enough to be interesting but short enough to let you know they focus on quality instead of quantity. They do great cocktails and cold cold beers, local and imported.

The hamburgers are fantastic, they arrived on a little wooden chopping board, with wax paper to assist with the fall out factor - and some of these burgers are slippery! The meat is freshly ground and cooked to your liking, the toppings freshly cooked to your specification. Sides are simple, but delicious and the service is fast, efficient, friendly and accommodating.

We were lucky enough to have a live band playing - the three piece band squashed themselves on to the spiral staircase and played away to a delighted mixed Thai / ex-pat audience.

Definitely worth searching for, it is a wonderful little slice of nostalgia brought to the bustling streets of Thonglor. Thank you to the wonderful team - both the front of house servers and the back of house guys who prepare the food. We'll be back, with more of our friends....

One of the most tucked-away, intimate and unique places I have ever seen!
If you don't know it's there you will just pass by and miss a great gem.
Just like an old speakeasy...or hip and intimate West Village boite.
Some great jazz and live music...more peanuts than you can ever consume.
You can release your inhibitions and throw the empties on the floor.
A must see for a drink if you happen to be on this side of Bangkok.

Great wine, company and awesome decorations.

This is probably one of the coolest bars I've been too. The interior was decorated by the owner with drawings and intricate decor.

There was a lot of thought put through the design.

The smoking room, if you can find it, is pretty awesome.

With a black and white movie playing, peanut shells cracking under your feet, live blues music playing and a good glass of wine, you can never go wrong.

I was very happy to have found this place.
