“Perfect Vacation Spot”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

This is the second time I have stayed at this resort. You ABSOLUTELY cannot beat the location and the amenities of this facility. Just a block away from the BST skytrain which takes you all around the city, and a short walking distance to the financial district of Bangkok. The one bedroom unit has a full bathroom, a spacious living room and dining area that seats four, a full kitchen and a laundry room. The property has a nice swimming pool, two story fitness room, as well as his and her steam rooms and saunas. On top of that, the office staff are very polite, and so helpful. You cannot go wrong by staying here.

The Marriott was an absolute delight to stay in, to say the least,

The friendly staff at reception were classic examples of the Thai hospitality, a smile and a cool drink were just what the doctor ordered after a 10 hour flight and a taxi ride through the streets of Bangkok,

The Apartment was stunning, a very spacious home away from home, The room was well decorated, fresh and clean. The size of the apartment dwarfed any other hotel room I have ever stayed in, it had 3 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, and a large Dining room/ Lounge/ Kitchen.

The view from the room was magnificent, with the Financial district of Bangkok on one side, and the sprawling outer city homes to the other.

My one main criticism of the apartment was the tiny balcony, which didn't really fit in with the giant room.

The resort itself was nice, with the pool area clean, and quiet. The gym was fully equipped, (not that I stayed in there for too long) and there was a children's play area for those guests with younger children.

The Apartment was close to a SkyTrain station, and there were taxis always ready to go outside the main complex.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and would happily return any day!!

Room Tip: The Higher the Better,

A quiet, well resourced and fantastically staffed accommodation choice. Very close to the Skytrain (only two stops from the city centre and two stops in the other direction to the main river wharf), means all "tourist" activities are easily accessible. It also means that you can aviod peak period (6am - 10pm) taxi and tuk tuk travel and the often interminable waits that this involves in Bangkok's spectacular traffic. DO NOT HIRE A CAR IN BANGKOK! Whilst the hotel surroundings appear shabby at first, a closer inspection reveals numerous eating opportunities from street stalls to an excellent "ethnic" food court in the base of the Empire Place building next door. The hotel's pool is great and the provision of washers and dryers in the units is almost a necessity in this hot and humid city. The welcoming, knowledgeable and unfailingly polite and calm staff make this a wonderful destination. P.S. If you are there at the Weekend, don't miss the Chatuchak Markets (on the train line!).

Marriott at Empire Place is a very clean, quiet, comfortable place to stay. It's close to BTS and centrally located so the chaos of Bangkok is just a train ride away. It was great to have washer/dryer in the room and is a must in Bangkok since city is so polluted, hot, and humid. The beds at Marriott hotels cannot be beat, they are always very comfortable. The pool area looked nice but, we did not use it. I have to say I am not a fan of Bangkok but, this hotel was great.

Friendly, helpful staff. They really go out of there way to make your stay comfortable. It's a great location, only 5 min. walk to Sky Train. Easy to take the sky train anywhere in Bangkok. Clean, spacious rooms. Nice pool and work out room. We planned on taking day trips out of Bangkok, but enjoyed the city so much and the Marriott, that we stayed the entire week. We were really happy with everything about this place.

Room Tip: Great location, 5 min. walk to Sky Train. Excellent service, Staff amazing friendly and helpful. As...

My husband and I exchanged our time-share week in Maui for a week stay at the two bedroom condo overlooking Bangkok. The staff are polite and very welcoming. The beds are comfortable, the baths are modern, the kitchen has plenty of utensils to serve visiting friends and family....free local calls and the internet connection. Just a few minutes walk to the Sky-train station, some street foods and food court near by. We had a family get together at the Thai restaurant, "Mary Janes" located next door and some of our guests can park their cars at the condo parking lot.....Thank you, Marriott... looking forward to come back again!
