We moved here from a disastrous experience in China and couldn't have found a bigger contrast!

Fabulous room with all new fixtures and furnishings. Clean bedding and towels every day. Great air-con. Complimentary bottled water, fruit, tea/coffee etc, washing powder and toiletries all replenished daily. The washing machine and tumble drier were quiet and efficient. Gave us a chance to get some washing done! Decent view of the city without the noise. The only downside (if it can be called that) is that there is no restaurant or bar here but Sarah Jane's, just a few yards down the street offer a friendly welcome to enjoy good, inexpensive food. They are open until 11pm so no need to rush back from a day in the city... We were told that the Empire Tower just down the street, also has a restaurant but we didn't eat there so can't comment.

The staff proved that this is genuinely the country of smiles.... they were marvellous in every respect and, since it was my husband's birthday on the day we checked out, the doormen, office staff and other staff all came into the office at 6.30am to wish my husband a happy birthday (We were checking out early as we were going on a day-trip but this didn't faze the staff at all. They could not have been more professional or friendly)

Didn't have time to use the facilities, so can't comment on them but would be most surprised if they weren't also top notch!

The Marriott is ideally placed for forays into the city as it is only about 100 yards from Chong Nonsi skytrain station, and it only costs 20 baht to get to the centre...... Don't miss a visit to the MBK centre - multiple floors of little shops within a huge mall..... many originals but many more fakes... and don't forget to bargain - it is expected and great fun!

All in all a most memorable visit to Bangkok - would be our recommended accommodation choice for everyone. Can't fault it!!!

Room Tip: Would be astonished if they have any BAD rooms!!!

Booked in for 2 weeks with wife and 2 children at MVC @ Empire place on 15th October 2011.
Empire Place is a large high rise complex located in Sathorn financial district of Bangkok just next to Chong Nonsi Skytrain BTS station (if taxi drivers don't know the exact address they can almost always get you to Chong Nonsi BTS). Marriott VC consists of a ground floor office + a large number of timeshare rental units on some of the lower floors. Our experience there was absolutely excellent and hard to fault in any way.
The staff were all exceptionally helpful for the whole stay - from booking taxis / airport transfers to answering all our silly questions and just being amazingly friendly at all times.
Our 2 bedroom unit was lovely with high quality furnishings and appliances including washer / tumble dryer and full kitchen. Flatscreen Cable TV + DVD in living room and master bedroom + TV in 2nd bedroom. Multizone r/c airconditioning made the unit completely comfortable no matter what the heat / humidity outside.
Unexpected bonuses included daily maid service, daily topups of filter coffee, washing powder and drinking water - all greatly appreciated. Plus free DVD and book library with loads of right up-to-date titles.
Unlimited access to rooftop swimming pool (during opening hours) with great views over the city skyline, rooftop tennis court (rackets and balls lent free from the Marriott office) and excellent gymnasium as well.
Nearby amenities include: the excellent Sara Jane's Thai / Italian restaurant right next door (opens 10am for lunch and closes 9.30pm after dinner); the Oasis basement food court in the Empire Tower office block just next to Chong Nonsi BTS station (a great option for brunch with enormous choice and great prices) - building also boasts a great coffee shop in the lobby area; and the City Viva shopping complex just past Sara Jane's with wide range of restaurants and a late opening supermarket - expensive by Thai standards but you can get just about anything you need there.
We were able to jump on a BTS train or taxi easily for trips to shops, markets, Mauy Thai and other Bangkok attractions with ease. Worth bearing in mind that for many trips, getting a taxi was far cheaper than using the skytrain for a family of four.
I would also wholeheartedly recommend "Tour with Tong" for trips further afield (see separate review)
Could they do anything else? - If I'm absolutely mega pernickity then they could provide a blender so we could make smoothies with the fabulous local fruit but that's just about the only thing I can think of.
All in all a brilliant facility and would use again and recommend unreservedly without hesitation.

We spent a week in Bangkok from September 18, 2011 and we could not say enough about the Marriot, the staff and our accomodations. The hotel is situated an easy walk to the skytrain so it is very easy to get everywhere in the city, yet come home to a quite area without all the hustle and bustle. The bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in and the room was spotless, always stocked and very comfortable. The staff were above and beyond helpful and pleasant and not one person of the 15 we dealt with was anything but perfect. HIGHLY recommend this place. And altough it doesn't have a bar/restaurant on site, it is a one minute walk to a full grocery store and several restaurants.

The Marriott brand maintains its sterling image once again.. I was completely impressed with the entire experience at this Marriott Bangkok property and I keep looking back on my time there, with nostalgia. From check-in to check-out , I cannot say enough about the quality of the staff , the 2 BR suite itself, the generous amenities, the clean and well-maintained pool , the well-equipped gym , the alert and efficient security personnel , and the overall building and interior suite infrastructure.

I do not have all of the staff names handy , but EVERY single employee I encountered was as pleasurable to deal with as the next , from manager to concierge to bell-boy to pool/gym attendant to maid to security guard, the entire staff associated with the place.

More specifically, the concierge and office staff were always cheerful , friendly and ready to help in a multitude of ways. They spoke excellent English, were well-educated and as polite as you could imagine. They exemplify Thai hospitality and should be commended for their superlative skills and abilities in customer service. I enjoyed talking to whoever was in the concierge office each time I would go by , as it is adjacent to the elevators and made it convenient to drop in and talk. They could assist with any and all activity planning to help you make the most of your time in Bangkok. You're in good hands here, believe me. Very , very nice group of people running this place.

The 2BR suite was one of the best units I have ever stayed in, throughout all of my travelling years. It was spacious and well-appointed, with clean and comfortable furniture that included a good size dining room set , that would actually be suitable for semi-formal entertaining. Flat panel TV's in living room and both bedrooms, a variety of effective and lighting options throughout the suite ( in a variety of tones ) , beautiful tile floors with thick and clean rugs perfectly placed and properly accented , and an overall furniture arrangement in every room that was well-coordinated and of the highest quality standards.

The bathrooms were at the top-end of any I've seen ever in a vacation property and were amply supplied with the proper amenities, you were never lacking for any toiletry item. The integrity of the fixtures and cabinets , along with a fantastic shower , was as good as you would ever find. The daily maid service was performed by a team of professionals that were friendly, very thorough in their duties and beyond efficient in the quality of the work. Tip them well , as I did , would be my recommendation , as they deserve to be treated accordingly.

Kitchen was all new, with new stainless steel fridge, double stainless steel sink , all sorts of new and modern appliances and cutlery. You would find anything required for making elaborate meals , if you so desired. It was downright elegant , as far as I’m concerned and enhanced the overall beauty of the suite , in its layout and functionality and blend with the floorplan. Large bottles of water were supplied on a daily basis and , upon checking in, you would find a basket of crackers and sweets, as well as a variety of fruit, an added touch that I have rarely seen before. A large pitcher of freshly-made ice-cold and tasty sweet tea , as well, was awaiting you in the fridge.

There was an abundance of closet space in a centrally-located area within the suite , that adjoined the living room/dining room , Master Bedroom and Master Bath. It contained a large and sturdy lockbox , bathrobe and slippers, and new iron/ironing board. There was lots of clothes hanging space, drawer space and a spacious area for your suitcase with a sturdy and foldable stand. It was an outstanding setup for the organization of your personal items. The Master Bedroom had an excellent desk/work-space with lots of 110V AC outlets and a comfortable, ergonomic chair. Easy chair and ottoman for reading before bed was adjacently positioned to the bed in the MBR and added to the ambience of the room. Bed was King Size , soft and comfortable , crisp , clean linens with a sheet comforter ( loved that ) and had lots of extra pillows, about 6 or 8. One of the most comfortable sleeping arrangements I’ve ever experienced.

Patio was off the living room ( with floor to ceiling sliding glass door and curtains leading out to it ) and was furnished , so you could sit outside and look out over the Bangkok skyline and it provided a fantastic city view, in all directions. The suite overlooked the pool area, as well.

Well-designed, optimally-functional and aesthetically pleasing living space that catered to all your needs and provided 5 star comfort and convenience ~ that would describe the interior living space of the 2 BR suite. Hope you get the picture of how great this place is. A staff that made you feel like family.

I cannot wait to return to Marriott VC at Empire and have already started planning for it.
Memorable and happy times in Bangkok, courtesy of Marriott. This place is highly recommended with my full stamp of approval.

We were here for a week for a long awaited holiday in Bangkok with the kids & to visit some friends.

This time we took the 1 room apartment and converted the sofa to a bed for the kids. Everything was converted upon request.

The rooms, amenities & all are still in good condition, even after 2-3 years of operation (if i remember correctly) I'm happy to know they have a iphone charging alarm clock at the main room.

With the new opening of The City Viva 2 doors away, we now have access to The Villa(a small but fully stocked supermarket with almost everything you will need) with just a2 minute walk :) They also have a bunch of small restaurants/food court within the building. do check them out, they serve great thai & also western food. The Jurgen burgers are AWESOME!

The only complaint we have is that Marriott STILL doesn't provide chopsticks & bowls for Asian noodles!!!!!! This is Thailand, and south east asia, where instant noodles are pratically the staple food! PLEASE PROVIDE THESE FOR US!! It doesn't cost more than THB100 for a set???!!

We stayed here for a week in July and had a great visit. It's very close to the airtrain stop (Chang Nansi), which is two stations away from the river boat taxis.

The main thing people need to know is that this location is not really a hotel setting, there is no restaurant or bar on the premises. This worked for us but I can see how some people might not like that. It's also a residence, so the amenities outside of the room are pretty sparse.

One nice bonus is that there is room cleaning every day, which isn't usually the case at a Vacation Club.

The staff in the 24 hour office are very eager to help, although they sometimes seemed a bit thrown off by some of our requests. We are more do-it-yourself travelers, so I think a few of our requests threw them a bit. But they were very thorough in their attempts to answer questions/requests.

The room was very nice, with a large bathtub, a great shower, a quiet room with a comfortable bed, a pull-out couch (didn't use), and a balacony with a view of the city.

I cannot tell express how wonderful the staff was here. They were thoughtful & went above & beyond any staff we have ever had. They even traced a ups package we were waiting for, & when it didnt show up, they sent a driver to get it for us. The rooms were beautiful, clean, stocked with everything we needed. We asked for a blender & had it within minutes. They were knowledgeable about where to go, how to get there-called us cabs, wrote out directions etc. so we had an easy transition to our trips locations. I would stay here again in a hearbeat. There was a food market very near to stock your fridge with foods we recongized. They bowed & acknowledged our presence and made us feel very very special

Room Tip: all were wonderful
