The location is very convenient to public transportation and taxis are always available. The hotel itself is terrific, with superb service and a very cool ambiance. It is luxury without needing the size like a Four Seasons.

The rooms are very comfortable with all of the trimmings and the bathroom was very old worldly in feel. It has a huge clawfooted tub and a rain shower that was amazing at the end of a day sweating outdoors. The pool deck is surreal, looking out over Bangkok from an infinity pool on the 19th floor. The bars are also terrific offering choices between a speak easy, a mens club and a cool outdoor deck. The only drawback is that the staff were not very good in recommending restaurants outside of the hotel.

So Muse hotel for me was not bad at all, but somehow it didn't become one of those memorable hotels you'd want to keep coming back to. The thing is, the hotel does look pretty nice and everything but something I can't quite put my finger on is missing. I guess you could say despite all of the good looks it lacks charm. Maybe the dark decor just gets to you after a while. I'm just going to keep it simple and mention the good and bad (in my opinion)

Starting with the good...so as it's almost always been the case for me, the staff were very nice and helpful; especially the concierge service really took their time to be genuinely helpful. The fact that there's a bar on the roof is a plus (although the Dry Martini at the speakeasy was really disappointing and the one served at the bar in Medici made up fo it) Having said that, the Medici which is the Italian restaurant also looks very nice. Another good thing about the Muse is the location. It's pretty central and near anything you may need (sky-train, shops, supermarket etc etc)

And now the not so good...besides anything that would be considered personal taste, the things that come to my mind straight away are, breakfast, housekeeping, no free wifi, no spa ...

So the breakfast here costs almost 25 $ per person and luckily I didn't get it in my room rate. The one time we did go to the buffet and did pay for it we actually regretted. I mean you really expect more choice from a 5 star. yeah you could order your eggs or whatever the way you like them but nothing memorable about them and the buffet itself was unexciting and basic. The thing is you could order "a la carte" in your room at anytime and it would cost less. Honestly I just wanted a cup of coffee and once you set foot in the breakfast area you gotta pay for it so you might as well eat a few things...
The housekeeping was nice on the first days, but somehow started to be less so as the days went by to the point where we felt they had just done the bed and tidy'd up the bathroom a bit and ran out. I mean almost everything was left were it was the night before ! One of the things that always makes a hotel feel special is the sensation of coming back to your room everyday and finding it impecable. That was by far not the case....
Next up was the no free Wi-Fi...I mean yes I know not all hotels have it and it's a good little way to make some $'s but in the meantime it just gives an impression of stinginess. Almost 10 bucks and hour, no thank you. Some things just make you feel like you're being ripped off no matter if you can afford them or not....
And last but not least, there is no Spa. This is a pretty big hotel on some 20 something floors and to fit a spa somewhere in there really wouldn't be that difficult. Same for the swimming pool which feels like, ok let's just squeeze a pool somewhere too...absolutely no charm about it.
So all in all, I can't say it's a bad hotel cause really it isn't and I would even recommend it for a weekend or something but with all the competition and everything that hotels do these days to stay on top, Muse just isn't keeping up.

We stay at this hotel for the g-circuit, about a week, we had so wonderful stay here, friendly staffs , nice room decorations, and new design building. But, something that the hotel can do better, put up a sign at the BTS Chit Lom station(which is not too far by walking), put up a bigger exercise room if there is more available places in the hotel, etc. Then u can make the hotel a perfect new modern stylish hotel in Thailand!

Dear Danny L,

Thank you for taking your time to write this review. It is music to my ears when I hear our guests thoroughly enjoying their time at Hotel Muse Bangkok, I will be sure to pass your compliments on to our associates. You will be pleased to know that we have placed a sign on the BTS Chit Lom station platform already! Furthermore, due to space constraints, we are putting any plans for expansion of our fitness centre on hold; however, we do hope that the equipment there were up to your standards. I look forward to welcoming you personally on your next visit to Hotel Muse Bangkok!

Yours Sincerely,
Daniel Tannenbaum

this hotel is great. it definitely has the most character and charm of any hotel i have stayed in. the staff are extremely friendly and happy to help in any way.

the only slight letdown our original non smoking room stunk of cigar smoke this was quickly corrected though with a room change.

we will definitely be returning to hotel muse.

Great place in the middle of everything, close to both CBD's of Silom or Sukhumvit Hotel based tuk tuk to take you to the MRT. Staff were very deicated and welcomed us for our honeymoon., Pool bar with infinity pool is good as well as the facilities for gym etc which for the business traveller would be handy. Only concern is with the area being surrounded by embassies and and big hotels the only locations are other hotels so you must travel to do things. Though close for shopping etc.

Hotel is quite beautiful and has a very uber-cool feel, with chilled and funky music piped throughout and well thoughtnout decor. However, we were booked in for 5 nights but left after just 1 night stay. For the price, given the plethora of great value high end accommodation in the area, it falls short. We stayed in the standard 38sqm room and, by day, it felt claustrophobic and kind of depressing. The bathroom is well done but badly designed and the room itself is consumed by a big bed, too large for the space. They also have this strange entertianment unit that has a TV that rises from the top by remote control - gimmicky and ridiculous. The decor in the room is very stylish but due to the dark colors, it feels very heavy by day. At night however, it is very cosy and comforting and the bed itself is super comfortable. The room feels toomsmall though and we moved because of this.

The pool is small and almost comical in size.... They also have a few sun beds slightly emerged I the water that are rusty and a number of the fur toured in the pool area are rusting which is not good for a hotel open only 6 months. The gym too is small but adequate.

Breakfast is served in the 19th floor restaurant and is well done. They have come away from traditional buffet (although fruits and cereals available by buffet) and they serve ala carte which is good, if not somewhat pretentious.

Internet too is over 500baht per 24hours which seems quite excessive

Ithe reception area, due to it's very dark interior, is also swarming with Mosquitos and when we were leaving we were bitten all over our legs.

In conclusion, the hotel is quite beautiful and the staff were courteous and helpful but it feels unwelcoming and austere, great for those who want to feel grandeur and pomp but if you're after value for money, comfort and space, look around - CHECK MUSE OUT FIRST BEFORE YOU BOOK, IT MIGHT BE YOUR KIND OF THING, IT JUST WASN'T OURS.

Btw, we transferred next door to the Cape House Serviced Apartments, paid less, had a room with balcony, double the size, Internet included and were far more relaxed.

Room Tip: Have a look at the rooms higher than standard - they may feel more spacious than the standard 38sqm

Dear SEABoys,

Thank you for your review. As a Hotel that emphasises on design, I must admit you are right, our hotel is not for everyone but nevertheless, we thank you for giving us the chance to serve you.
