Stayed there for 1 night at the recommendation of my thai colleague as the hotel is very close to our office in Bangkok. Located with just 5 minutes walk to the BTS station, the hotel is very strategically located in the busy bustle of Bangkok. Surrounding is filled with many wonderful options of eatery including my favorite and must visit when in Bangkok, Coffee Bean by Dao restaurant.
Breakfast spread were very good and impressive. The room are spacious and comfortable.

My wife and I stayed at the AETAS Lumpini for 3 nights after 8 nights in Koh Samui. We found it a pleasant hotel, breakfast was good and the one evening meal we had was tasty - a Thai banquet. We stayed on the 19th floor in an upgraded room, facilities were very good. As mentioned in previous posts, the Lumpini is located near the railway, must admit we didn't get to use it. As per previous posts, we also had problems with taxi drivers returning us to the hotel, not sure why? We fully intended attending the Mua Thai boxing across the road but unfortunately didn't make it this trip! Staff were friendly, helpful & the majority spoke good English, booking in and out at reception was hassle free. We quite enjoyed having drinks at the bar on the 9th floor - this is where the pool and a small gym are located. All in all a pleasant hotel.

Stayed with my wife at the Aetas for several days. The hotel is very well placed steps from a subway station and across from one of the largest parks in Bangkok. The hotel is modern, the accommodations are top notch, it was clean and very well kept. Morning breakfast was good but the fresh fruit selection limited. Staff very courteous and helpful and fluent in english. A refreshing swimming pool overlooking the city in the ninth floor is also a big asset because temperatures were in the 100's in the city.

I stayed at the Aetas Lumpini after a week at Koh Samui. My stay included transfer from Suvarnabhumi Airport. This transfer was very smooth and fortunately surprisingly quick given Bangkok's reputation for traffic. Check in at the hotel was personalized and also very quick and friendly. Our room (a junior suite) on the 19th floor was spacious and clean. Breakfast is served on a basement level and it is very good. Efficient service even at peak hour with most tables occupied. There is a gym, pool and lounge on the 9th floor which is functional. Check out was also very efficient. Complementary wifi is available throughout the hotel. Our only complaint was with its location. While it is within walking distance of the underground train line, we had many problems trying to get a taxi to the hotel from other parts of town even with a card from the hotel with its name and address in thai.

To/From Airport:
As always, I'm a big fan of public transport. Take the Airport Line from BKK to Makkasan station, then transfer at MRT Phetchaburi then get off at MRT Lumpini. The total journey is about 45-50 mins. So it's about the same time as a taxi ride if you arrive into BKK during rush hour.

AETAS is located just 3 mins walk from MRT Lumpini.

Check In:
I booked through Agoda.com so my booking is already paid for, staff walked me to my room and showed me all the room features.

View:
My room had a good view of the Lumpini Park. It's not a direct view like Sofitel So, but it was still nice.

Room:
The room is where the hotel shines. Big king size bed, clean and comfortable. Lighting, A/C control buttons at the night stand were clearly marked and does not leave you guessing over and over again. Grohe toilet fixtures, very good quality. All the shower edge caulking were very clean, no black stains anywhere. Wifi was stable and speed was very good.

Pool/Gym:
They've a small pool that looks out to the park a bit, and the gym has 2-3 standard machines.

Breakfast:
Down in the basement level is the breakfast buffet. Food was standard and good options. Staff were very friendly. I really wish they served the meal at the pool/gym level restaurants, I think overall it leaves a much better positive and lasting impression for the guests when you can dine with a view vs. eating in the basement.

Overall:
For only USD80 a night, if you don't care for all the "frills" like a Sofitel So, this is a very good standard business hotel for you to consider in the Lumpini area.

Room Tip: Exit at Lumpini MRT and walk 3 mins. to the hotel.

Like some other reviewers we stayed here for 2 nights as part of a package deal and had fairly low expectations.

Location - The hotel is not right in the middle of the shopping district but there is a subway stop pretty much next door and taxis are dirt cheap anyway. I think it was $2 (60 thb) to get from MBK to the hotel. There are a few 7-11 shops a short walk away. The only issue we had was a lot of taxi drivers and a tour company didn't know where the hotel was (because it is new) so take a hotel card with you so you have the address in Thai. Hotel is also only a short walk to Lumpini park, and opposite the Muay Thai stadium.

Service - We have stayed at quite a few 5 star hotels, and this was the best service we have experienced so far. The staff are extremely attentive, and helpful without being overbearing. We were never long sitting in the foyer without being asked if we needed any assistance. The duty managers in particular were excellent and one even personally removed our towels from our room after we forgot to change our do not disturb one day. Overall, most staff spoke reasonable English (definitely enough to get by).

Room - We stayed in a junior suite which was very roomy and comfortable. There was a separate area for luggage (very big space and nice not to have our luggage in the main part of the room) and a little office, The bed was comfortable and things like aircon and lighting were easy to control using the panel near the bed. Various mod cons and extra touches including our name pre-set on the phone.

Dining/bars - The hotel has a restaurant and a separate bar which also serves snacks. We received one dinner and 2 breakfasts on our package. The set dinner was okay but a bit bland with quite small servings. It took us around 10 minutes to find someone to seat us and at one stage we were the only people eating there. Breakfasts had ample variety including made to order omelettes. I would most likely only go for breakfast if we stayed again.

We also had a cocktail and a meal at the cocktail lounge/bar. We were the only people there even though it was night time which is a shame because it is a nice area. Cocktails were ok and snacks were big (almost more than we had for dinner!).

This hotel is admittedly not one that would have stood out to us if we didn't get our travel package. There is no shortage of top notch hotels in Bangkok at great prices so its hard to stand out from the crowd. Having stayed there and viewing their regular prices online, we would most definitely stay there again. An extremely modern, clean, and comfortable choice that is a little bit away from the hustle and bustle which suited us well.
