Aston adapts the concept of molecular gastronomy into their food. This is where science meets cuisine. you would see the use of food science technology come into play with your dishes. To be honest, the concept is very new to both I and whole lots of other bkk diners out there. I would recommend getting the full experience of this place by ordering the Degustation Menu. It does come with a high price tag, but it comes with an experience that you don't normally get from any other restaurants in Bkk. (It's also what the chef is his best at :)) The position of the restaurant may not fit the ambience of CDC where Aston's fine dining should be placed along the streets of sukhumvit, thonglor, and whatnot.
Even though the price is on the steep side, but considering the bold move of taking on molecular gastronomy full on, Aston looks like a restaurant that has a very high potential. I am giving Aston a 4 star and I am sure people will agree with me after some getting used to the new concept that Aston is grasping for.
