“PERFECT INITIATION TO BANGKOK”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

This was my first trip to Thailand and I was apprehensive about where to stay as I did not want an impersonal glitzy run of the mill hotel. I cannot emphasize just how happy I was with Sala Arun. It looks a bit deceiving when approaching the hotel as it is down a small alley, but from the moment you enter it just lifts your spirits. I booked us into the suite thinking I would treat myself as it was our anniversary. It is one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in. It was so large that we did not even use some areas e.g. dining area. The bathroom is huge and the room itself is decorated beautifully with a king size bed and large LCD Television. The highlight was however being able to sit on the swing couch on the balcony and watch the boats go by and the activity at the temple.
If ever I return to Bangkok this will be my one and only choice.

Room Tip: The suite is the one and only option if you can afford to splurge a little.

This hotel is amazingly beautiful, the entrance door by itself is a piece of art. The location is really great, the food in the restaurant is excellent and the view from the "Eagle nest" bar is fantastic! Sala Arun is situated just 10 minutes away from the Great Palace and 2 minutes by walk from What Po. What Arun is across the river, and the ferry stop is just few minutes by walk from the hotel. The staff is really friendly and helpful, in the room there are all amenities plus free wi-fi. The breakfast is very big and tasty with choice of Western and Thai food. We enjoyed a lot our stay at this very beautiful small place, recommend it to everyone!

We went there for a peaceful rest for 1 night at Seevichai Room on the 3rd Fl.
It was wonderful, staff moved us from Lanna Room to this room cause it has a better view which is correct as there's less tree to cover Wat Arun view.
Staffs are nice, smiles and service was great, we love a breakfast there, room was clean and view is fantastic. It's a small but very nice boutique hotel, try a night!

Room Tip: Eagle Nest has a wonderful view if you wanna drink just go up to 4th fl. it's quite peaceful and...

Great location being walking distance to the palace, reclining buddha, short ferry ride to Wat Arun temple. Staff were very friendly , ask for a room on the river fantastic view of the temple. Rooms were clean and of a good size. Breakfast was great and of good size. HINT catch the ferry as easier and cheaper.

If you are not a backpacker and are looking for a small and intimate hotel close to the temples, you must stay here. The location is just on the water across the temple of dawn and do ask for a room with a river view. You must! Rooms are good size, nicely decorated and the service is friendy. WiFi is a bit slow but its there and working. The location is fantastic as one is just next to a river stop and can take a ferry to cross it or a boat to get down the river. It avoids all the traffic jam so do consider. If you are into massage you can go to wat po for one but you can also just turn the corner towards the dry fish market and get more for half of the price and equally good. I really recommend this hotel for its service price and location.

Don't visit for a drink unless you have your cheque book and pen with you we were ripped off complained and were given a 10 percent discount still expensive. Tables outside overlook a dirty river. Toilet though was very clean

Fantastic view of Bangkok river specially an old temple across the river located on the edge of the BKK river. Go before 1830 to see the sunset and the temple lit up. Service is good but drinks are a bit more than usual. Gin and tonic at £5 each. All in all a must to do.
