The owners and staff at this restaurant are really wonderful. Great service, delicious food with western standards (I've gotten sick from food in Thailand a few times and you can't be too careful), and a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. This is my favorite place in Bangkok!

It feels like being home in a way.
Tucked in a small (a bit noisy) alley, you'll find this cozy restaurant.
It looks like one of this places where the owner is happy with the way things are and there is no need to make sure they can get more customers in.
The food is very tasty. We had Thai food, but there is a wide choice of "international" dishes. You can have a burger if you like, but don't let this influence your opinion before you go, the Thai food tasted very authentic and nice to us.
Some nice memorabilia on the restaurant walls and it is easy to start a conversation with other customers, but only if you want to.
Overall excellent value for money.
Definitely worth a visit.

I have visited several times, always with pleasure. It's like being well settled on a verandah or balcony, open to the air all around but with all the creature comforts you need; on a very warm evening the fans are skilfully positioned to keep you cool. The menu too is skillful and varied, with balanced tastes and flavours, served discreetly and without hurry. There's sometimes a bit of noise from the street but this is part of the atmosphere: we are in a quiet corner of a great city. Best not to go here if you are in a great rush for something else. The prices are middle-range, not baseline cheap but certainly good value. The coffee is unusually excellent.

Having frequented Bangkok for the last few years I cannot remember a trip when I have not called in to Mali...

On a quiet Soi in Sathorn this is a peaceful little place with a really chilled atmosphere. The food is great; the staff are as great and in general, a really great place to remove yourself from the Hustle and Bustle of Bangkok...

If you possible, try and get the table that I call the 'Birds Nest', its in the far right corner of the Outside Bar. Eating here is just great with friends and the table is up a step or two that removes you from the main seating area... a great little spot.

I will be back there in November, first stop Lebua Sky Bar for Drinks, 2nd Stop Mali.

Try this place folks... It really is a Gem.

We were recommended this place by some people in our hotel and were very pleasantly surprised. Our waiter Witchard was very attentive and made some excellent recommendations based on our tastes (we like it very spicy). The larb moo at 120 baht and som tum at 80 baht (pork mince spicy salad and shredded green papaya salad) were very good, combining all the right flavours of hot salty sour and sweet with the contrasting crunchiness of the roasted rice in the larb. We like whole fish too and the spicy deep fried snapper (300 baht) did not disappoint! Since I particularly like spicy food and requested some prik nam pla (chillies in fish sauce) which was wonderful and full of chillies, unlike some restaurants which assume that because you are western you will only want two or three little bits of chopped chilli in the fish sauce.

All in all an excellent dinner with great service. Price wise it is more expensive than you local street hawker in Bangkok but cheaper than the western places here. Very competitively priced. We took our own duty free wine, but they have wine and beer on their menu at very reasonable prices. There is alsowestern food on the menu but we don't understand why you would come to Bangkok to eat lasagna.

The staff were all very friendly and attentive - we were very happy to havevmade this little find. Decked out in teak it actually feels good and homely when you spend an evening there.

It is located on Sathorn Soi 1 right near the very famous (and expensive) Pandanus.
