The hotel is close to the train station and centrally located to most shopping malls. A decent hotel value for money. We booked a twin room for 4 nights at reasonable rate. Their service was excellent - we wanted to order pizza on our third night and they assisted with the order. Opposite the hotel you will find variety of food stalls especially in the evening.
Even though we spent most of our days outdoors, this hotel is a good choice if you are looking for value and service.

Love the location of this hotel!
5 mins. walk to Rachatewi BTS station.
It has nearby 711 convenience store, Thai Massage Spa (You must try Zentara Thai! you'll love it)
and good authentic Thai food shops nearby (Soi 5).
In terms of the room and service: you get what you pay for.
Decent room with nice city view and enough space. (request for high floor to see the view. they have decks in every floor.)
Overall, had a great stay for an affordable price! Not bad at all!

Room Tip: Request for high floor for good city view :)

This property is very close to every places in Bangkok that we would like to visit. But most of all we love the traditional market on the back of the hotel where you can find delicious Thai food and a lot of fresh fruits.

Maybe value for money. We had just a day's stay had to catch flight at night. Room not well lit at all. The lifts travel 20 floors, only two of them operate. Very crowded breakfast area. The service is pretty good. People try to answer all your queries, cab and tour booking options are good.

Room Tip: Check all the lights are working, otherwise rooms are pretty dark. Not enough light.

We came as a group of 8 and booked this hotel few months ago based on decent reviews on tripadvisor. However during check in, which their official time is listed at 2pm, we found that we had to wait until 4pm before the rooms could be ready. Once we got our key cards, we proceeded to our rooms. Of the 4 rooms that we booked, 3 were in suitable condition and 1 had a front door which was unable to open.

We used a phone in one of the other rooms to call reception to inform them of the problem. The already exhausted elderly couple whose room door was faulty, were told to go back down to the reception to make the complain. We insisted that they send somebody upstairs to meet us and the reception was very unfriendly but eventually did so. After about half an hour standing outside the room and sending 5 different staff members to check on the broken door one by one. The last staff member had to start drilling with an electric drill through the door knob trying to get the door to open, instead of just easily letting us have a different room. After they finally gave up, they decided that they would change the room for us. Except we needed to go back down to reception to change the keys ourselves. With all the mess and inconvenience they put us through already, they could at least send the new keys up to us instead.

What a horrible way to begin our Thailand holidays and definitely not memorable anymore.

Spent 3 nights at this hotel. Had a good experience. Room was clean and spacious. Staff are excellent. Location is very convenient as Ratchathewi station is a 5 main walk away. Banks, 7 Eleven stores and food stalls are very close by too. A taxi to the airport for up to 4 people can be arranged by the hotel for 400 baht.I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Beware the devious taxi and tuk tuk drivers lurking outside.

The hotel is ideally located for those wishing to travel on a budget or daring enough to try the public transport (good in the capital city). It is a 5-8 minutes walk from the nearest overground monorail system "Ratchathewi", from here you can visit other parts of bangkok easily. We took trams from here to 'mon chit' for the bangkok weekend market which was amazing shopping so many stalls in one place...
also the hotel is only two or one tram stop away from MBK shopping mall. we walked home to the hotel from MBK shopping mall and this took us only 15 minutes. there is a very good food court in MBK - must try.... also around the hotel are many street food establishments (we did not try to look for restaurants as we are fine eating streetfood)

the hotel itself is clean, modern room, modern lifts, had good aircon, staff friendly, safe, housekeeping cleaned room everyday. shower over bath. hot water a bit on the warm side and not that hot. but it was fine. TV had some english speaking channels. two of the hotel floors has one washing machine and one dryer which helped ALOT as we needed to wash our clothes in our 3 weeks trip around asia. thank you bangkok city hotel for providing this do-it-yourself facility. you just put in coins buy washing powder from the corner shop (7-11) and away you go. clean clothes.

room service we also tried one night and it was reasonably priced (not expensive unlike some hotels) and it was delivered very quickly and within the time frame they described and it was good food.
the swimming pool was good too. and when we went there were not too many people. however the pool is closed during certain hours.

if i had to highlight one bad fault is the breakfast. it is a crazy atmosphere. you are not seated by staff... you just find a seat when you see one. very manic. no order. buffet style; serve it yourself service and to most of us that fine but we noticed certain groups of people in Asia fill up their plates so high but do not eat it and so it is wasted whilst leaving none for the rest of us who had a tiny bit of a lie in. when the staff were approached on the matter as we asked if there would be more eggs/juice/ rice coming out their reply was the breakfast in this hotel is free (complimentary) to the room rate... so what they mean is what you see is what you get. Basically they will not go the extra mile to make sure you get your breakfast or anymore breakfast, so make sure you arrive early if you want to be well fed before your days of sightseeing.

all in all i would definitely recommend this hotel, as apart from the breakfast scenario - it is perfect in other ways and very much worth the price.
