I stayed with my family of four for two nights in the beginning of July. It's a good deal for the price. The pros: close to Khaosan Rd, friendly and helpful staff, rooms with air con and wifi access. The cons: shared bathroom.

Located very close to he khaosan rd, but still very quiet and tucked away. Initially sent us a confirmation email for the wrong days, but responded quickly with the right dates when I questioned. Staff were v friendly although only one member spoke good English, she gave us lots of local information unfortunately in the room we stayed in, although v clean, there was only mattresses on the floor. For the amount we paid, there should have been proper beds!

This was my second time staying here, the first was 3 years ago in an air con room. This time I booked late and there was only room left, with fan only. Unfortunately it was upstairs and the heat was unbearable. We had 3 fans blowing directly on us and they felt like blow torches. It was probably 95 degrees outside and hotter than that in our room. It made sleeping extremely difficult.

Otherwise, everything I loved about this place is the same as before: awesome location, clean and comfortable. Not to mention, CHEAP.

I would stay here a third time but in an air con room only. The fan room was oppressive.

The hostel feels very homely just what you need after an 18 hour flight. We stayed here three nights and would recommend it to anyone coming to bangkok. The place cannot be faulted in cleanliness and has both hot and cold water for showering - however I do not know why anyone would want a hot shower in 40 degree heat!! Having travelled in malaria risk countries I'm Very wary if insects and Mosquitos, in my whole time at the hotel I found one in the bathroom with the room having sound insect nets on the window and being insect free. The staff are very accommodating and I think there is someone on the front desk most of the time although only one can speak English the hotel also claims to have CCTV so it is safe in my opinion there are also a number of excursions and shows they are willing to arrange through the tour desk which although we never had the chance to book seem reasonable enough. The location is good if wanting to explore the wonders of old bangkok and a tum tuk to all the major sights like grand palace shouldn't cost over 150 baht. It is near the khaosan ban road a Mecca for backpackers at night but not too close for it to be noisy a tuk tuk will cost fifty baht there and one hundred back
The laundry service is good 1 kg of washing washed dried ironed and folded for 50baht
The only faults with the hotel are as following:
In approaching forty degree heat a room without aircon my be unbearable the three fans in our room make it cooler to sleep but are noisy. The beds are just mattress on the floor which can be rather uncomfortable especially after walking around all day
Although the location is excellent for old bangkok getting to new bangkok and areas like the financial district is tricky and involves hard negotiation with the taxi or tuk tuk driver - we got three hundred baht one way - don't let them stop at a jewellers or suit makers half way to lower the cost as you will just get hard sold items which you do t want or need

Apart from this a must recommend hostel for exploring old bangkok

Room Tip: I don't know if they do an aircon option or not but it may be worth checking if coming when the...

Though the Khaosan road is usually so busy with many young and old tourists from all over the world, this place is not really disturbing. It is just few distance from the Grand palce and Wat Pho. The place is nice and quite

We stayed here for two nights. It was our first accommodation in S.E.Asia. It's in a great location just up the road from khaosan road. But in a quiet street. You can walk to the grand palace & Wat Pho (reclining Buddha) & then cross the river for Wat Arun. The rooms are nice & clean.walls are very thin!
You can hear everything from the rooms next door or above. We had room 104, so had noise from one side and above. Didn't really bother us tho. Mattresses on the floor are comfortable. Showers and toilets are shared but are extremely clean. Staff are very helpful and do tours. The breakfast is delicious!! Nice coffee too.bottles of water in room which is great! We will be staying here again next month.
Would highly recommend.

The location is perfect, lovely staff, clean rooms......this place I can recommend 100 %!!
Bars and markets are in walking distance. All other places you can reach easily by tuck tuck. Don't forget to negotiate. That place is perfect for 1-3 nights. They have a washing machine and dryer.
