We picked this hotel as we wanted to stay outside of the madness of Khao San Road. We found the location of this hotel to be the best of both worlds, it's quiet, but surrounded by transport options to bring you anywhere you want.

At walking distance you have the Surasak BTS station that brings you to the MBK, Siam square or Saladaeng for shopping. A bit further down the road, but still easy walking distance you have the river ferry that brings you to Wat Arun, Khao San etc. for next to nothing.

Across the main street you have Little India with some great exhibitions, shops and restaurants.

The hotel itself has a very nice communal area with a pool table. We stayed there twice, once in the cheapest small room and once in a larger room. We can recommend to pay a little extra for the larger, newer, room as the small rooms are a bit dark and outdated. The newer rooms have their own balcony, huge bed, flatscreen tv and even a small kitchenette. The pool on the roof is small, but refreshing on a hot day. Would come again!

Room tip: Go for the bigger a bit more expensive room, you won't be dissapointed.

Its a cheap hotel, but there are other places which are cheaper or the same and much nicer. The service is really bad, no body speaks any English, all the service they claim to provide falls short, for example I did not get a microwave, there is not many cable channels, the rooms are not serviced regularly, the safe box is very small not big enough to put many things in even though there are signs everywhere saying they will not take responsibility for stolen items from rooms and people should beware, the washing machine require coins and the reception don't carry change for them so you cannot use. The rooms are pitch black, no natural light at all, and have horrible fluorescent lights.. and somehow still mosquito's still get in! don't know how. Also the pool is a lot smaller than it looks on the website, its about 3 meters long. Also they rip you off as often as they can, I got a cab to the hotel, they asked for 40 baht from round the corner, when I got their the hotel took the money plus 20 baht extra for some reason and paid the driver 30 baht.. so they made 30 baht for no reason. Its hard to find out the policies of the place because no one speaks English, so its hard to know when things are closed, if there is a curfew, of when the shop is closed.

The menu in the cafe is ok, but I think they could include a lot more options, I think they should do the place up a bit and have a bar and nice food, they should get better staff (I think they employ their children) they could make a lot more money if they spent a little bit more money and made more effort. Its like a really bad youth hostel in the middle of knowwhere, but if I wanted that, I could go somewhere else in a better location and it would probably be nicer.

Room tip: don't get the standard room get executive room, they have natural light, but are still no very good.

Room wise you get what you pay for. It’s a little run down and can be noisy at times, but the rooms are clean, the water is hot, there are no insects or bugs and you get a massive fridge to keep your fruit and drinks cold! The free wifi and the really nice lobby, outdoor area and rooftop pool give great value for money. We stayed here for one night before catching the train up to Chiang Mai and Hua Lamphong is a 38baht (per person)train ride away. If you are looking for something cheap it’s all good.

It’s a little hard to find but we took the trains from the airport. Once you get to Surasak BTS, take the North-West exit onto Sathorn Tai Road, walk past the Thai Chamber of Commerce (Thai CC) until you reach Sathorn 15. Walk all the way until the end of Sathorn 15 and turn right, about 20 metres down you will see an alley to your left, at the end of the alley turn right and you will see the hotel.

The worst place I have ever been! We have been living for 4 days with broken toilet, all the crap from all upper floors was regularly floated on the floor. The staff refused to repair the whole sewage system, just lazily operating with plunger into the pan. Finally we had to solve the problem by ourselves because of weekend. In addition, they refused to return us already paid money for rent, in spite of the fact that they had promised it earlier. Summary: it was the worst experience and the most unpleasant memories. If you have an opportunity to rent any other place for living in Bangkok, do it. This will save a lot of your nerves and money.

A long term resident, stayed a year. Difficult to find comparable options in the area for same price and amenities - the reason why most long termer's in building dont leave probably why management are lazy. Other MUCH nicer buildings on same Soi but no gym (pathetic but usable) or pool (oversized kiddie pool, but fantastic on a hot day - when clean!).

PROs:
- Location: (5-7min walk to BTS)
- Price: long term rates are reasonable, try to negotiate, if you know someone in the building find out what they are paying, chances are management will ask you for more, for same or worse room!
- some rooms are very charming, easy place to be social or keep to yourself.
- Amenities: roof top garden with great view, small pool and small gym, small convenience store with all you need if you are too lazy to venture out or forgot buy!
- cheap self service laundry machines
- free wi fi in the lobby
- friendly atmosphere and great place to meet people if passing through town or staying awhile - play pool, hang around the pool or on roof top garden.

CONs:
- Location: not easy for taxi's, not easy to find if you have never been
- Price: NOT the place to stay for a few nights, WAY over priced for quality
- they need to clean pool, hallways and roof top garden more frequently.
- Most rooms are old, musty, dirty (even after they are cleaned!) and tired! If considering a long term stay - look at a few rooms. New rooms are clean and much nicer
- older rooms vary a great deal in style, layout, furniture, extras, etc. If you dont see it - ask for it and make them supply it!
- Restaurant: horrible, overpriced and close early. MUCH better restaurant next door at 1/2 the cost! BUT you are not allowed to bring food from next door and eat in the lobby - they will ask you to leave and eat it in your room or back at the restaurant!
- Staff: most unfriendly, horrible job cleaning, smoke in hallways, lazy, untrustworthy! After being robbed of large amount of $$, never let them in the room again unless they were supervised by us! Management were NOT cooperative or helpful and offered NO apology or complimentary services to make up for the loss!
- Management: friendly and surly at the same time!
- Wi fi: in room, expensive and very slow
- Loud neighbors: mosque nearby with loudspeaker into building, also very loud Thai families up at 3am,who dont care about making lots of noise.
- Loud neighbors; INside the building. Walls are VERY thin! You will hear many things you wished you hadnt...

Good luck deciding!

Room tip: ALWAYS ask to see more than one! Ask for room with numbers in 800's (they are newer, nicer and cleaner!) Stay away from rooms above restaurant, unless you like bugs! Check hot water, a/c and flush toilet to be sure they work and dont leak! Rooms on West side are quieter, but hotter and you wont see a beautiful sunrise!
