“the front officers not willing to service”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

I have problem about laundry service ,you have to tell front officer before you use laundry service, although they take yours stuff out off your room, you will not have your washed clothes back otherwise. and the front officer is proud and bossy not willing to help.
DON'T GO THERE!!!!!!

We stayed as a couple twice in Sept and Oct 2012 in this wonderful hotel, within walking distance of Phaya Thai station (take exit 4 down the stairs and across the road into an alley, or you will be searching: learnt from experience ). This hotel had a high level of cleanliness, quite to my liking. The room was spacious with flat LCD TV and an average size bathroom, and the staff was reasonably helpful and quite friendly( tipping does matter in this industry a lot i guess) not withstanding. No one really spends much time in a hotel when on holiday and neither did we, but we got a good nights rest, which is what really matters. The breakfast was good, but they do not experiment much, which we realized on the second stay. The hotel is within walking distance to Pratunam, which is a major shopping centre, and because of Phaya Thai stt. you enjoy good connectivity all round, which includes both airports: Suvarnubhumi has a direct link and Don Muang is not all far (160 baht was my cab fare in a meter cab). The downside of the hotel was that they did not have a swimming pool, no weighing scale(it is handy and essential to keep a tab on your luggage), and they insist on 1000 baht as a refundable deposit. Overall it is a good hotel and a safe bet.

Nice staffs, clean rooms, fast wireless internet and easy to get to the airport. You can go to the National Palace by a taxi from the hotel. (You may ask a staff to call a cab. it is the easiest way to go.) Breakfast was reasonable, mostly western food. There is no swimming pool.

I stayed here while accompanying my husband on his business trip. It is located in a little alley where several street side stalls selling food are also located. We can't eat the food here because it is non-halal but the hotel stay is value for money. Be careful when making your way out of the hotel towards the train station because the alley is narrow and vehicles such as vans and Hilux ply this alley too. You might have to wait at the side to let them pass.

The environment is quiet and is about 5 minutes walk to the Phaya Thai station as well as airport link. By taking the train at the Phaya Thai station, you can get to the MBK Centre (for shopping) by changing at the Siam train interchange to get to the National Stadium station (3 stations away).

You will be required to put a 1000 baht deposit upon check-in. This is refundable when you give them the receipt at check-out. Be sure to get the hotel's namecard at the front desk when you check in. This will come in handy when directing your taxi drivers to the hotel. The namecard has all the street names and True Siam Hotel name written in Thai. We usually show the taxi drivers or tuk-tuk drivers this namecard first before boarding to make sure they know which hotel we are referring to.

If you prefer to do your own laundry, there is a self-service laundry shop along the same alley. Exit the hotel and turn right and walk towards The Victory Residences. The laundry shop is near this apartment and just opposite you will find a Family Mart convenience store. There are several 7-elevens as well nearby. One of them is near the Phaya Thai train station.

There's free wifi in the room and a mini bar. 2 bottles of Chang drinking water are provided complimentary. The standard room which we stayed in on level 4 doesn't have a view. The balcony has an ash tray for smokers and it overlooks the rooms opposite ours. The staff is generally helpful and friendly.

Great hotel for the price range. 5 minute walk to Bangkok Rapid Transit and the airport rail link. Clean, well appointed room. You would be hard pressed to find better value for your money in Central Bangkok. Plenty of good street food nearby.

Environment

With a touch of thai design. An outdoor drinking bar at the entrance of the hotel. The room is relatively big for standard room. Mattress is hard not comfy. So far no complaint of the room.

One issue would like to raise up. They do not provide toothbrush for standard room? *roll eyes*

The housekeeper threw away my tooth brush by mistake? i do not know, i asked for toothbrush, they say no toothbrush for standard room and i have to get my own toothbrush.

Location

Somehow its situated like along the back lane? Girls, please take cab or tuk tuk when you return to hotel. The lane walking towards the BTS station (victory monoment station) is very dark and souless at night. There might be drunkard around the area. Be careful. And some taxi driver don't know the hotel location, show them the hotel name card.

Breakfast buffet

OMG seriously very boring they serve same food every morning. Not much variety and food are so so only.

Service

Very pleasant and good. The staffs at the door very helpful always there to carry your heavy loads.

I stayed for 4 nights with my daughter up to Christmas Day. The approach from the Phaya Thai Airport Express station is a narrow somewhat scruffy street but on arrival we found lovely spacious clean rooms and helpful service.

Dinner in the restaurant was also a pleasant surprise when we used it for convenience on arrival and the night before departure.
