Hansar Bangkok

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Hansar Bangkok. We dug the warm vibe and high quality style the Hansar Bangkok creates and maintains while never giving you a feeling or sense of being ostentatious. Truly a great boutique hotel.

Our stay in Bangkok was only a few days, but we found the hotel to provide a great sense of calm in contrast to the overall busyness that is Bangkok.

The staff was very attentive and professional. If we had any questions or concerns they were very quick to handle anything we needed. When we asked for recommendations about bars or restaurants they gave very clear, honest opinions of what we should expect.

We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Always with fresh ingredients that were nicely chosen and well presented. We also enjoyed the bar and our sweet day bartender who always took great care of us.

The spa here was a real treat and a welcome surprise. We can definitely recommend the Eastern Blend massage treatments and very much enjoyed the two different teas that were served at the beginning and end of our appointments. The spa is nicely appointed and very comfortable.

I read some other reviews that were a little critical of the pool, but we found it to be very pleasant and relaxing. We actually enjoyed the fact that it was quite shady. Especially with all the heat we experienced visiting this time of year in Thailand.

We stayed in one of the Urban Suites and thought the room size was perfect. We found the bed quite comfortable and the bathrooms quite spacious.

Whenever we come back to Bangkok, I know we will definitely choose the Hansar as our hotel of choice. All around a we had a very pleasant stay.

The Hansar Bangkok was a great way to kick off our three weeks in SE Asia. Great location, nice modern design and amenities and outstanding service. The morning breakfast area provided an assortment of different cuisines - all prepared in mouth watering fashion. The location was also convenient to the public transportation system and there were plenty of cabs available as well. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

We did not have a hotel booked for our last two days in Bangkok a few weeks later. It was an easy choice to return for a few more days before flying home. Just as great the second time!

This was my fourth stay at the Hansar and it was just as good as the first one three years ago,we stayed in a Edge suite this time which was excellent with very comfortable beds.
On the second night we dined in the Eve restaurant and had the chefs tasting menu which was fantastic,it was nice that the head chef Charles from Belgium came to the table to explain the menu to us,he then came back at the end of the meal to check that every thing was OK.
The bar area at the hotel is lovely with candles everywhere, the bar staff are very helpful and make excellent cocktails, yes it can be quiet at times but most people come to Bangkok to explore the city at night time.
If i had to pick a fault it would be with the breakfast, the choice is a bit limited compared to some of the other 5 star hotels in Bangkok.
The Hansar will be my first choice of hotel next time i am in BKK

I remember my stay at Hansar fondly. I was welcomed upon arrival with a cold towel and a welcome drink, and after the formalities of check in was complete I was told that I had been upgrade to an Urban Suite.

Hansar is an all-suite hotel, and is situated on a quiet road just behind the Four Seasons and St Regis hotels. It is only a few minutes walk to the nearest Sky Train station, although there are always tuk tuk drivers hanging around near the hotel asking for your custom. Also, there is a convenience store opposite the hotel, which is another option, although at Hansar you get a free mini bar in your room, which is almost unheard of in hotels I have stayed at.

I did not dip in the pool, but I had a drink at the pool bar, and it is a nice little place. Other reviewers have mentioned it is very dark, and I agree. However, Hansar is a boutique hotel and has its own identity to separate itself from the rest. I in particular like the way they cut down energy usage by having open concept corridors which use mostly sunlight during the day.

In room dining was very efficient with nice quality and presentation. The bathroom contains a massive standalone tub, and also has a rain shower. The toilet is in a different compartment. I really loved the way you have a TV in the lounge area, and another one in the bedroom.

When I am next in Bangkok I will be retuning to Hansar. I think it's the best quality hotel in the city.

Room Tip: Usually you will get a complimentary upgrade even if you book the cheapest suite.

Great deals available here, from a decent hotel, well situated near the metro and the centre of bkk city, near Erewan corner. Right behind the Four Seasons and the St Regis, so top 5 star hotels right there. However it is extremely dark inside no atmosphere in the bars and restaurants. Breakfast buffet is ok but not special. Coffee shop is good for snacks. The rooms are nice but again very dark, but good spec. The swimming pool is ok but very small and if it's busy you will not get a seat. Service us excellent from very friendly well trained staff.

It's great value but nothing special, all the windows need cleaning at bedroom levels, very dirty and some difficult to see out!
We had an Edge Suite, nothing special and very dark.
Buy the cheapest deal with breakfast inc, super value for its location.

Room Tip: The cheapest possible and get the highest floor possible. Don't waste money on the suites.

Dear Peterah Northwood,

Thank you for staying at the Hansar Bangkok and in particular for going to the trouble of sharing your stay experience with us.

I regret to learn that you found our lobby and bar with no atmosphere being dark. We apologize for the inconveniences caused. We will surely take this matter into serious consideration to make amends.

I am also concerned to learn that the windows need cleaning facing the bedroom level, we will have our House Keeping Manager to emphasize more cleanliness at all times.

If there is anything we can do to make you feel even more comfortable, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Once again, my sincere apologies. We do hope that in spite of the incident we will have the opportunity of welcoming you back to experience the service improvement.

With Kind Regards,

Christopher

The Hansar is located down a quiet street on the corner of which is the Sky Train station that will take you down to the river in 10 minutes. From there you can take a boat to the various temples and tourist sights. On the negative side, the hotel feels in the middle of nowhere at night and if you don't feel like getting on a train or trying to fight your way through Bangkok's awfully congested streets by taxi then you have very limited options for dining out of an evening.

We arrived at 7am so was not expecting our room to be ready, however we received a warm welcome and a restorative face towel and cool drink and were shown immediately to our room. We had an executive room on the 18th floor which was spacious with a separate lounge and huge double sink bathroom with a roll top bath and rain shower. Couldn't hear another person at night so the sleep quality was very good and the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

The breakfast was average. You had a choice of buffet which, as with most buffets, was a lot nicer and fresher the earlier you got to it, and a limited choice of extra's from a menu. The range and quality was good, nothing special.

The service was mainly excellent with friendly and helpful concierge although some members of staff did struggle to understand what we were asking but we found most people in Thailand do not have a good grasp of English.

What was most enjoyable about the hotel was the swimming pool. Although the water was cold it was heaven coming back from a hot and stressful day negotiating the chaotic streets of the capital to an oasis of calm on the 7th floor and have a nice drink and a dip in the pool. The gym also had a good range of equipment in it.

Overall this hotel is exceptional value for money, well located and offers large comfortable rooms. All you want from a city break!

Myself and my partner stayed only 1 night in the hansar. After the 9 hour flight from Sydney we wanted to treat ourselves. This hotel defiantly delivered!

Great room that combined modern and Thai decor. The bathroom is awesome!

Good location. 30 mins from airport. Great service with local tips and advise. Would stay again.
