Hansar Bangkok Hotel
Ranked #42 of 896 Hotels in Bangkok
Reviewed August 17, 2013

We have now stayed twice at this sleek, kind-of-boutique-style hotel in Bangkok. Both times the experience has been outstanding. Whilst the hotel may offer slightly less breadth of services than the well known 5-star brands, it delivers everything it does to a very high standard and in an impressive client (guest) oriented way.
From the check-in, breakfast, the restaurants, the gym and swimming pool service, the concierge, everyone at the hotel seems very focused (in the well known Thai superfriendly way) at delivering a top notch experience for the guests. And all of that happens at very competitive rates.
We wholeheartly recommend this hotel for a stay in Bangkok, for anyone who is not set his or her mind to pay twice as much for maybe more glamorous but less personal luxury options like the Shangri-La and Mandarin Oriental.

It is an amazing hotel in terms of design, service, cleanliness and room layout and size. The location is very convenient, 3 min walk to BTS but since it is on a side street, the hotel is very quiet. Felt so relaxing and comfortable that you don't really want to go out in the heat! Staff are all very pleasant and friendly, especially the boy Lucky at the front door who helped me load my luggage onto the taxi with a big and charming smile!

We stayed at the Hansar for four nights in an Urban suite.
First the positives:
-Very large room, well equipped and we especially liked the bathroom
-Free and speedy wifi everywhere
-Well equipped gym and very large pool, perfect for lap swimming
-Concierges were all great, sometimes it took a while to explain something but they do try their best and always with a smile
-convenient and central location

Some side notes:
-Pool service could be improved. Totally silly you have to sign a book in order to get pool towels. Water should always be provided, now it was just occassionally. Also, the bar at the pool could make more of an effort to serve guests or at least come to the guests at the pool and ask if they want a drink. Now you do have to come to the bar and order
-During our stay, there were some events in the event room next to the pool, making the pool area very crowded with people who had absolutely no interest in swimming or leisure time. That was really a strange mix and not a very well chosen place for the event room.
-Breakfast was overall ok, what really made me cringe were the plastic cards placed on each table with the a-la-carte selection. This looked like something straight out of a very cheap restaurant and really did feel out of place at a luxury hotel.

Overall, it's hard to find major flaws at the Hansar. Overall, a pleasant stay with no complaints. However, we found the design of the hotel to be very muted green and gray, a little bit bland from a design point of view. Because of this very personal and subjective reason, we would probably not return here.

Don't believe one whinger, this hotel rocks!
As with many Bangkok hotels, the Hansar is on a side street, a very typical Bangkok street. it's a stone's throw from the convenient BTS station. Nothing unsightly about the area.
Yes, it's true the pool is surrounded by tall buildings, but if you want views as far as the eye can see, don't stay in a hotel based in a metropolis like Bangkok, head to one of Thailand's many islands.
At the Hansar you feel like more than a number. Concierge and staff remember & greet you by name. The boys at the front desk work tirelessly to please (Knight, Ken, Lucky)-- their service was impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble at the Hansar. At breakfast we mentioned to Addy that we liked a certain condiment. the next morning he bought it in abundance just for us!
The Luxsa Spa was heavenly. Ying and girls know their stuff and provide professionalism and knowledge. On our last day, my friend had a stomachache so we were forced to cancel our last spa session. Immediately Ying organised a soothing herbal tea to settle the stomach be sent to our room.
The suites are spacious and tastefully decorated. Huge bathroom and great showers. Super comfy beds and pillows. I particularly liked the green-wall (similar to the one at concierge) in our room.
Overall I would highly recommend the Hansar to any guest.

Room Tip: we got a free upgrade just for asking :)

The location is very good. In the city centre. 10 Minutes away from the Central Plaza and The Sky train station which we did not use.
The check Is funily on the Mezzanine floor, which was not very comfortable. The Room is good, the furnishings new and clean design. Did not like the Passage way, it was Too grey for me. The wash rooms are nicely designed but they have a few cracks here and there. The Breakfast is good, being a veggie, the chefs took my special request every day . The concierge service is the best, they are always eager to help and are very alert, they do not let you lift the luggage at all. Felt really king like.. Some things that did not go well, one or the staff opened our room while we were in. The staff was apologetic, so we let it go and did not being it up. The spa was not the best we thought, not value for money. We were there to play golf, so couldn't spend a lot of time at the hotel. We will surely go there again, we loved the people and their attitude.

Had a great time at Hansar hotel, spent 4 days and 3 nights there

Firstly the staff were all very friendly. Of note the concierge team was excellent, helping us book
Shows and dinner/lunch reservations and had ample suggestions/recommendation of places to sight-see and shop. I would like to especially thank Lucky, Ping, Krong and Nike for all their help throughout our stay.

Location of the hotel was great. 3 minute walk from the BTS station.I liked the fact that we were a 7-10 minute walk away from centralworld (main stretch of shopping street), hence just close enough to the busy bustling streets but far enough to escape from all the crowds and just relax a bit.

Stayed at the Urban suite which was very nice, free minibar and different selection of local fruit everyday. The toilet is amazing, and the beds were very comfortable. We booked the spa deal, which came with a free 60min massage at Hansar's Luxsa spa which was also very relaxing. Our booking also included breakfast daily, which has a good mini buffet selection, and u also order a main dish of omelette/French toast/eggs/waffle/pancake.

All in all we had a very lovely time at the Hansar hotel Bangkok and are definitely planning a trip to visit the Koh Samui branch soon
