We have justed returned from a 3 nights stay at the Ramanda Encore Hotel and the stay was not bad. The hotel is situated on sukhumvit soi 10 which is about 8-10 mins walk from the Nana & the Asok MTR Stataions. They have a buggie service which they call shuttle which leaves you to the main sukhumvit rd for further convinience. There are some good indian pure vegetarians restaurents like Khana Khazana, Dosa King just opp sukhumvit soi 10. There is another indian restaurent called India gate & a 7 eleven store on the way to Asok MTR station from the hotel. The ambience of the hotel is somewhere between a 3 star boutique hotel and a 4 star commercial hotel. The rooms are small but neat, clean and tidy. The bathroom is also neat & clean. The swiming pool is just a notch bigger than the water tank so we didnt try it. The restaurent on the roof top along the swiming pool is cool for a quite drink or a cup of coffee. The breakfast is the hotel is good if you want something else you can ask the kitchen and they will make it instantly for you. Instead of welcome drink the hotel gave us a vaniila strawberry ice cream which was good. The location of the hotel is near to some good cheap shopping places like the Prathanum market, Platinum mall, Indra Square, MBK Mall, and Centre point mall. Its about an hours drive from the airport depending on the traffic. The hotel boys can also arrange for taxis to go to pattaya, tiger temple etc etc. Overall we had a good stay and can recommend to people travelling on average budget.

Stayed 3 nights in its standard double from 2-5 Dec. with breakfast. Booked using booking.com for Bht 2300 net/night

Normally we stay in MBK area but this time, wanting to be near Healthland Asoke and with a certain budget, we selected this hotel.

It's 10 min walk from the main Sukhumvit road. Not difficult to find if you fairly know the area which I do. To those un-initiated better take the cab. If you're walking in, a good landmark to note is the Chuvit Garden which is just right outside Sukhumvit Soi 10.

The reception area is basic and small. Check in was smooth and ice cream cone is nice gesture and unique.

Room is modern looking and space efficiently used. Clean and adequate facilities. The LCD TV is huge which I like. The free wi-fi is also fast enough for our usage.

King sized bed is comfortable and enough storage space in the wardrobe where the safe and ironing board are also stored.

Bathroom is good size and roomy enough without feeling like it's crammed.

So far, I have described the pros for the hotel for the price.

Next are the cons for the hotel

Lift is darkly lit or maybe due to its use of tinted mirror and its proximity to the reception meant not much privacy.

Carpet in the room is dirty and stained at the edges.

Breakfast is poor with selection the same and limited and service is given only when asked especially when it comes to re-filling of coffee. One of the service staff does not seem keen to serve.

The buggy service to the main road is available but again only provided if asked. And since the location of hotel is off the main road, it is not the most convenient location to the nearest BTS Nana or BTS Asoke ( both about the same distance to me).

I would not choose this hotel next time round because the service level is not worth the inconvenience of walking distance to the main road.

I was staying in Ramada Encore for 3 nights. I was happy for the first night, when I didn't need anything from the staff.

Airconditioners in rooms (stayed in 2 different classes, standard+delux) are very noisy and hard to control.

Staff is mainly looking in to your problems and continue to look in to your matters when you check-out. Even emails are not replied within reasonable 3 weeks.

Location of the place is good, there's a skytrain station nearby but you really have to be comfortable to move on dark streets and even taxi's can't always find the hotel. It's also nearby new club called Insomnia, but walking is for the brave.

Room Tip: There are many differences in the rooms, better check few. Our upgrade from Standard -> Lux wasn't really upgrade at all, almost identical room.

This hotel was ideal for my stay. The staff were friendly, kind and full of information. To be honest, a hotel that deserve's more than just stars.

I was only there for a few days, but wished i had stayed there longer. However, i will be heading back to this hotel on my next visit to Bangkok.

I would recommend this hotel to all.

I wasn't able to find any reviews on my hotel's restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised by their twist to a traditional dish of phad thai (see photo attached). Phad thai came wrapped in an omelette with two giant prawns.

You may need Asian cuisine appreciation to get why whole prawns are better than shrimps that are fried with phad thai noodles. For me, when the prawns are prepared separately, they are more tender because it's easier to ensure they don't get overcooked. These prawns are much bigger than shrimps which means more meat! The meat actually continues to the head of the prawn, and the meat up there are quite full of flavor. Great when combined with the sweet tamarind sauce that coated the prawn. Eventho it's a bit weird to see full prawns on a dinner plate, the Asian in me love the fact that I get the whole thing instead of having half of it going to waste.
