Got in via a ticket purchased @ Grand Palace, making this visit free of charge, but there is a fee if you go separately. Just now (Nov 2012) there is an exhibition of locally made craft items - such delicate & detailed embroideries, wood carving, jewellery, bead work & much more. It is titled 'Arts of the Kingdon Exhibition'.
Have to be appropriately dressed - legs, shoulders & cleavage covered (ladies AND gents) and ladies MUST wear a skirt or dress - I thought I was OK in cropped trousers, but had to purchase a sarong @ TB40 to wear before I could go in. Have to leave bags etc in locker @ entrance.
Good - the 3 of us took maybe 45 minutes to amble round, look, discuss, enjoy.
Bad - small tour groups were whisked round in 10 minutes! So noisy, all rushing & pushing past us, especially as we wanted to stand back a bit to appreciate some of the exhibits. We counted 5 groups do this in the time we were there. Not allowed to take photos inside.
Coffee/gift shop round the back, with toilet facility.
Definitely worth a visit!
